This recipe is absolutely delicious. I've been making it on Thanksgiving and Christmas since 2002 when I first found the recipe. It's always a crowd pleaser. They are quite sweet though, so if you aren't looking for that, don't make these. Notes: 1 Cooking time actually varies and can be between 20-40 minutes, depending on slice size. 2 Uniformity in chunk size is a good idea, as it prevents the smaller chunks from breaking apart into the sauce. 3 Recipe can be easily doubled in amounts by using a larger pot.

Loved these and simple! I made them for a work function but was asked to make sure they had marshmellows on them so I added 1 tsp Cinnamon and when they were done, took a cup of mini marshmallows and sprinkled on top. Took the pot to the oven and baked for 10 minutes at 450 degrees just until the marshmallows melted and turned brown! WOW! My teeth hurt but they were GREAT!

These yams are wonderful just as the recipe reads but even better with a few changes. I used a 1/2 cup white sugar, 1/2 cup real maple syrup and added cinnamon to taste. For Thanksgiving I made them early in the day and put them in a casserole and reheated them later.

This recipe is awesome, easy, and delicious. I made this for Thanksgiving and had to hide it from my sons. This was my first time making candied yams and with this recipe it will not be my last.

This recipe is so good. Only 4 ingredients and so simple to prepare. It took longer than 20 minutes for the potatoes to cook. It's Thanksgiving morning and I'm looking forward to serving the dish to my family.
