The 9 by 13 inch pan spread them too thin. I think I would go with a smaller plan if I made them again.

I have baked a lot, but this was my first attempt at making brownies from scratch. I picked this recipe because it looked easy, and I found that it was. It is very easy to make, and the results were nice. I would rate the brownies about an 4 out of 5 stars on taste and a 3 out of 5 stars on texture. I was looking for a bit more of a fudgey consistency, but they were soft in the middle and more cake-like. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to try making brownies from scratch for the first time.

Love these. Why buy boxed mix anymore? I too cut the sugar down, but I also added about 1C chocolate chips to the batter for texture & more chocolate flavor!

I used a little less nuts for a better proportion.
    Great with fresh whipped cream!

I will never buy packaged brownies AGAIN! I've made this twice now, but have made a little revision: reduce the sugar to 1 cup, and add 3 tsp of instant coffee mix... very nice flavor! Not very sweet, but add a little creamcheese icing and voila! Perfect with your morning coffee, satisfying, but not too rich.

    Enjoy!!

I made this two days ago in my apartment. My roomate said it was the best brownies she has ever eaten in her life. She even brought them to school and give everybody a try. For me, I think this is the easiest brownie recipe although using semisweet or bittersweet chocolate would give a better result. I reduced the sugar by 1/2 cup because I don't like really sweet dessert and it was perfect. I would also recommend toast the nuts first to get rid of the raw flavor.

The batter tasted so good! They are the first brownies I have made by scratch on the stove top. They are still in the oven!

These were really good but very sweet. I think next time I make them I may try to cut down the sugar a bit. Very rich and moist.
