this was so easy and delicious! i cut the sugar and butter amounts in half. i also used fat free 1/2 & 1/2 and french bread instead of texas toast. i also added in a few handfulls of chocolate chips. it was so yummy.

after reading the first review, i decided to use even less sugar and butter but it was still EXCELLENT! especially because it was so easy to do also.
i used only half a cup of sugar and 3 ounces of butter, and it still turned out delicious! i made bread pudding about 4 hours ago, and i think about half is gone already.. i think 1/4 will be left by the end of the day.
tastes like custard.. [that's a good thing!] :

My husband proclaimed this his new favorite dessert that I make. I used leftover Italian loaf instead of Texas Toast and it was awesome!

This ia truly a delicious recipe. I did reduce both the sugar and butter. I used 1 cup of sugar instead of 1 1/2 cups. Even so, I found it rather sweet. I reduced the butter by about half.

I used a baguette instead of the texas toast, but only because I had some slightly stale leftovers on hand.

I also added some chopped pecans. It was fabulous!

It was an easy recipe that I definitely recommend and will try again with variations. Yum!
