  • Croutons:
  • 1 sesame bun top, cubed
  • Dressing:
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup blue cheese crumbles
  • Splash Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • Burger:
  • 1 pound ground beef, 80-percent lean
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 slices Cheddar
  • Salad:
  • 2 heads romaine, chopped
  • 1 tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, sliced
  • 1/2 cup chopped cooked bacon

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  • For the croutons: Place the cubed sesame bun on a baking sheet and bake until toasted, about 10 minutes. Let cool.

  • Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.

  • For the dressing: In a mixing bowl, combine all of the salad dressing ingredients and whisk together. Add salt and pepper, to taste.

  • For the burgers: Divide the ground beef into 4 equal patties, season with salt and pepper, and cook on the grill to your preferred doneness. Melt a slice of Cheddar on each.

  • For the salad: In a mixing bowl, combine all of the ingredients for the salad and toss with the dressing and croutons.

  • To serve, place a cheeseburger in the center of each plate and top with the salad.
