Peanut oil? Seriously? NO NEED...i would never think to ask if butternut squash soup contains peanuts and we have peanut allergies in the family--make sure you ask your guests if they have peanut allergies before serving!!!

This was my first time cooking and using butternut squash. I actually made 2 soups, this one and another recipe. Personally, I LOVE this one. I followed the recipe pretty exact, exept I did not have fresh jalapenos on hand so I used some jarred ones instead. They seemed to work out great. I love all the flavors and how it's creamy but also slightly sweet from the squash and yet spicy from the jalapenos. I think my husband will love it. The other recipe came out too sweet to me. This one is a good balance. I personally love it and will make it again and again.

This soup is excellent!!! It's so creamy and yummy and surprisingly easy to make. I found pre-cubed butternut squash at Whole Foods which makes it even easier. I've made it several times and it always turns out wonderful! A must-have recipe to keep on hand for the cold days.

This was very good, I wouldn't change a thing...all the ingredients made the soup have a lot of depth to its flavor!

This is excellent. The cream isn't even necessary as the soup is very good without it. It's a great winter soup and freezes/reheats well. The jalapeno is a nice touch.

My wife and I made this and the soup was good, but then we added the salsa. Then, in the words of Emeril "BAM!" It was awesome. We served the soup hot and dropped about two tablespoons of the cold salsa right in the middle. The only thing we added was some sliced up avocado to the salsa. The presentation of the servings looks great too, with the salsa.

OMG!!! What a wonderful soup. I had a butternut squash kicking around the kitchen for a few weeks and wasn't sure what to do with it when I came across this recipe. It was so creamy and delicious - even before I added the cream, and even better after it was added. I immediately ate two bowls and can't wait for my husband to get home and try it! Another hit that I will be making for years to come.

This was very easy to make (using pre-cut fresh cubed squash!, thanks Costco! . I used greek yoghurt instead of the cream, a bit more chicken stock, and simple grilled shrimp instead of salsa, as I neglected to check to see if I had black beans on hand. Husband who usually doesn't care for butternut squash really enjoyed it. Will definitely make again!

This soup is sooooo good!!! My husband loves it! Made it the other night for my father and in-laws and they loved it. My father is actually picking up the ingrediants to make it tonight. Was asked to make it for Thanksgiving!!! Like some others have said*****another cup of chicken broth! Enjoy!!
