I love the recipe turkey turnovers I am writing to tell you that in this episode there was a recipe turkey turnovers and a large hot dog dip in something. I am not seeing that recipe in this episode. I would love to make the turkey turnovers. The show name was "The host samples spit roasted lamb. If any one can assist

Turned out a bit bland for our taste. I also hadn't included the seeds form the peppers - mistake, it was NOT hot at all. So after initial tasting I modified it slightly to bump up the flavors: Added 1/4 tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp oregano, 1/4 tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes, chopped cilantro. Next time I will swap 1 lb of the beef with 1 lb of hot italian sausage, and likely leave the seeds of the peppers. But a very very easy chili and will definitely make again with those adjustments.

Chef Clark prepares a Great Chili in the "True" South~Western style.Ingredients such as Cocoa and Spices Not usual is what makes this so Delicious! A great All day Cooked Chili to maximise Flavours. I went to look up the Cookery book. Since,"The General Store" a new Establishment has opened&all Cookery Books sold out! Congrats to Chef,Sad for Us "foodies". Anyone get the "batter" recipe for the Corn Dogs? Thanks. {I like rinsed beans from Tin.Always Taste a chili "pod" to see if mild, moderate or off the Scoville Units of Measure of Chilis}.

I was very excited to make this chili after watching the show in DD&D. However, it was a big disappointment. :( I followed the recipe exactly and, aside from the bite from the peppers, it just tasted like meat and tomato sauce. It had such little flavor. I ended up adding more chili powder (Penzey's regular, ground chipotle, oregano, and cumin. Only then did it start to taste like real chili.

Great recipe! It went over like hot-cakes at the bonfire last night. We did make a few modifications to the recipe that seemed to work out pretty well.

    - Instead of the chicken stock, I subbed out some turkey stock that we had frozen,

    - I added a bottle of Sam Adams Black Lager

    - Subbed out the bitter sweet cocoa powder for Ghiradelli 60% Cacao Bittersweet Chocolate (2 squares chopped added at the end.

This one is going to be our new go-to chili!

Having seen Gillian Clark on Fried Chicken Throwdown w/Bobby Flay (haven't tried that recipe yet and then on Guy Fieri's show, I was taken with her smile and personality.

Made this chili last nite and easily give it 5 Stars. After reading the review that mentioned how hot it was, I decided not to use the seeds from the peppers...now I wish I had because that's where the heat in this lives...next time, I'll use the jalapeno seeds too and if I find I need more heat, I'll add the seeds from the habanero too.

The chocolate gives it a great dimension (I used King Arthur Flour's Double Dutch Chocolate Powder. For the chili powder, I used half Penzey's Chili 9000 and half Williams-Sonoma's New Mexico Chili Powder. We added sour cream to the finished chili. Yum!

Looking for feedback from those who have made this---Did you include the liquid from the can of Red Kidney Beans? All of it, if so? The Bew York Times published version of this same recipe says to include the liquid. Thank you.

Love the recipe, I've made it twice. This time I left out the chocolate and sugar, and found its really spicy and good! That is how I will be making next time, but it will make your scalp sweat!

I have never used a chili recipe before, but I will now! This is hands-down the most amazing tasting chili ever. I don't want to make it any other way; can't wait to hear what the folks at our family reunion think tomorrow. That's IF I can keep my family out of it tonight : Thank you so much for sharing this; I plan to share it even more!
