Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cider vinegar
  • 8 ounces apple juice
  • 6 ounces brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cracked black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons salt
  • 1 quart canola oil

Directions

In a standing mixer, using a whisk attachment, mix in cider vinegar, apple juice, brown sugar, cracked black pepper, cayenne, cinnamon and salt. Blend on medium speed until all ingredients are incorporated. Continue mixing on low speed and add oil slowly until emulsification starts. Change speed to medium and add remaining oil.

    This dressing is so good and easy to make, your guest will think you are amazing! Great for the holidays. I serve it on top of baby spinach with matchstick apples, green onions, pecans and feta or goat chesse. Easy receipe to half or quarter. You will make it again and again. Watch the salt.

    This is a fantastic vinaigrette that screams autumn. This dressing compliments any chopped salad perfectly and if you chop and add a crisp apple (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith, the marriage of all the flavors is simply wonderful.

    I agree with others that this amount is waaayy too large, so I quartered it. I love this dressing because it is different, but I don't get sick of it. I love it best with arugula, mandarin oranges, candied pecans (with cumin and black pepper, and some nice blobs of goat cheese. I add the goat cheese after tossing.
    Try it and enjoy!
