This salad has been around for years...I made it all the time in college (and that was in the late 80's..yikes! But I have some adjustmenst that I know will make some of the below complaints go away: cut the oil down 1/2 or so and replace some of it with sesame oil or better yet, sesame chili oil. Use rice wine vinegar and some ponzu instead of red wine vinegar and add a teaspoon of suger or some artificial sweetner. Using bagged cabbage works just fine if your strapped for time...and replace the strong red onions with sliced green onions. I use toasted sliced almonds instead of peanuts and throw on a can of drained mandarin oranges. The wonton skins aren't needed and just toss the top ramen in and mix right before serving. It gets gobbled up instantly! To make it more hearty add shredded chicken...yum! I'm making it to take to a superbowl party...its a hit every time!

I've brought this salad to 3 events. All 3 times it was a hit. And my kids like it too, which goes a long way with me. This one's on my "favorite potluck stand-bys" list for any party.

This is a disgusting recipe. The taste, texture, and aroma are all hideous. How this no-talent clown managed to win a show is beyond me.

I wanted to love this recipe after I saw the judges rave over it but honestly the dressing had no flavor at all. I was very disappointed. I took it to a dinner party and no one commented on it.

I generally dislike cabbage, but this stuck in my head from the show after hearing the judges raving about it. So we tried it and its actually surprisingly good! My only suggestions would be to go light on the red onion as it can be really overpowering if you get too many, and then also to chop the cabbage up into bite-sized pieces or its kind of hard to keep everything on the fork - making for awkward eating!
Thanks Guy and I can't wait to see your new show!!

John, you're a dork. Why would we need another Emeril? And a more annoying version of him at that!

Thank you, Guy! It's delicious. The name of it is a real "show stopper" for our friends. We think you're definitely in touch with "us" and our generation and we NEED more like YOU! AWESOME and entertaining food ideas! You make cooking look like so much more than a chore!! I've never entertained in my kitchen before YOU! I was the "behind the scenes" chick, while our guests partied it up. You made my 'work' into the main event of our parties and all I can say is YOU'D BETTER BE THE WINNER!! Because we want MORE, MORE, MORE!! Life has few pleasures and much pain... you've reminded us of the simple and wild pleasure in taste and FOOD! Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts! YOU ROCK, BRO!!!!!
Let's get it stahted, up in heah!!
Props,
