I love chicken this was. I have a few things I do in addition to the directions you gave. #1 After taking a couple of big gulps of the beer, I put fresh thyme or bay leaves in the beer. #2 I make little smoker packages. I soak some hickory or apple chips in water for about 30 minutes, then I wrap them in two foil packages and put holes in the foil, and put the packages on top of the coals. #3 I save the carcas of the smoked bird and freeze it until I am ready to make chicken stock. It gives chicken stock so much flavor to a winter chicken soup..

I was pretty excited to make this chicken based on all of the reviews. I don't have a BBQ that accommodates a bird this size, so I cooked it in the oven at 3:25. I added some of the rub and thyme to the beer. The chicken is really tender and I do like the novelty of cooking a chicken on the can, but the flavor is pretty typical of any other chicken I've cooked. I'd definitely make it again and maybe change up the seasonings for a little pizzaz!

Family enjoyed! I took chicken and melted some butter and some paula deans poltry seasoning, galic powder, salt, pepper, chilli powder, and most important bud, the king off all beers. Cooked on 350-375 on gas grill for 2 hours, talk about moist and good.....Thanks for the idea, son ate the chicken faster then ever with no BDQ sauce, love it! PS. after i drank half of the beer, I poured the rest of the butter and seasonings into the cam Enjoy/

By far the best Grilled chicken I've ever had. Moist, full of flavor. This time we even injected a pineapple marinade before throwing on the grill....Still waiting for it to be finished. THANKS!!!

Perfect instructions. I try to keep my grill around 325 degrees and always cook 3 chickens at a time because of the amount of propane used. Yum Yummy.

AWESOME! I cooked mine a little longer and I loved it! I used multiple seasonings ~ sea salt, seasoned pepper, a steak rub, lemon pepper, and cayenne pepper ~ and it was delicious!

Its not done cooking yet but I would have found it helpful if someone had told me to foil my grill first...my chicken has caught on fire from the greese twice already - I sure hope it tastes good!!!!!

Most beer cans nowadays have a plastic coating inside. Usually bpa. Aside from that it's probably a great recipe

If there where 6 stars to rate this recipe it would get it. My only modification was to use a Coleman Foods all Natural Chicken, rubbed it with garlic infused olive oil, kosher salt, fresh ground pepper and I used a 16 oz can of Beer. Cooked on the grill at 360 on a cooking stone to balance the can and bird, added some hickory woods chips at the beginning of the cook time. Absolutely AMAZING, best chicken ever!!

Just signed up to say how truly good this recipe is. My kids asked for a second plate, and that never happens, lol. I did add rest of the spice mixture to the beer, cuz I like really nice flavor to my food. I definitely will come back to check out more recipes from here!Thank You
