AFTER WATCHING THE THROWDOWN WITH BOBBY FLAY AT LYNN'S PARADISE CAFE, I RECENTLY ATE THERE TWICE ON MY BRIEF VISIT HOME. FIRST DAY I ORDERED THE BOURBON BALL FRENCH TOAST. UNBELIEVABLE!! IT WAS TOTALLY OVER THE TOP AS FAR AS TASTE AND CREATION. THE COMBINATIONS OF INGREDIENTS CREATED A MASTERPIECE. IT WAS DELICIOUS! THE NEXT DAY I ORDERED THE HOT BROWN SANDWICH. I'VE EATEN THEM MANY PLACES BACK HOME, BUT THIS IS THE BEST OF THE BEST!! NONE COMPARE TO LYNN'S VERSION. I WILL DEFINITELY ORDER THIS WHEN I'M BACK IN LOUISVILLE.

But it isn't. It's very light. Delicious! I made this for my husband, parents & some friends of ours who were visiting over the weekend. It turned out great. And we used the leftover bourbon whipped cream to top our coffee the next morning. My mom & dad stopped at Lynn's Paradise Cafe on their way back home from Indiana & they said that ths was excellent and the restaurant was really neat. I will definitely make this again for company. But I will cook the bread on a lower heat so it will cook through better & I think I will soak it in the milk mixture for less time. You need to try this recipe!

I lived in Louisville for several years and ate this dish many times at Lynn's Paradise Cafe. It is my favorite french toast recipe! Try it at home!

French toast will never be the same. Lynne's Bourbon Ball French Toast ruins you for the "every day" kind with maple syrup, etc. Our family attends a convention in Louisville, KY every year and are always on the lookout for good food and restaurants that are easy on our wallet. After watching the breakfast Throwdown on TV 3 yrs ago I knew Lynne's was a must try.

We arrived there on a Tuesday around 2 pm or so. I ordered the Bourbon Ball French Toast. Due to the slow time of day for customers, It was exceptionally good. On Saturday about the same time of day, we returned. Once again I ordered the B.B.F.T. But, this time, the whole restaurant was "hopping" busy. We had to wait a lot longer for our orders to come. My BB French Toast was still very good, but, just slightly soggy in the middle...probably due to the slightly melting whipped cream and slower service.

I still gave the recipe 5 stars because I know what it looks and tastes like when full attention is paid to it. In the 2 yrs that we have eaten at Lynn's, our family and friends have accumulated about 25 meals from the menu. No one has been disappointed. Everything is very good and with Lynne's ecletic decor and attached shop to look around in, it's also a lot of fun.

Wow! This is the stuff that you eat and then dream about for a long time afterwards. I had this at Lynn's Paradise Cove in Louisville - I was an out of towner there. My son told me about the cook off there and those entrees were noted on the menu as well. As someone who always orders French Toast - I can actually say this was the best I have EVER had!

The custard and bourbon chocolate swirls alternating with real whip cream was "to die for" and removed the need for syrup altogether.

Can't wait to return to Louisville to have this again!! If you are making this recipe and not liking it - you must be doing something wrong!

Had this at Lynn's for breakfast. It was simply amazing. Can't wait to try it at home for the family.

This recipe was not liked by any of the members of my family. It had a very awkward taste and the custard sauce did not go well with the french toast.
