Just as I remember my Southern Grandma making for Sunday dinner. I tried substituting cube steak and it was the only disappointing thing about the entire meal. Ended up tasting too much like ground beef. Next time I'll listen to Bobby and use the correct cut of meat. Thanks Bobby for taking me back a few years!

This is the best CFS recipe I've been able to find so far. My husband has been asking for it and says I make the best CFS. I tell him no Bobby does. Try this recipe!

This was my first attempt at chicken fried steak. The gravy in this recipe is off the hook! I used less milk to make it a more hearty - less milky. The bacon and thyme are key : My texan boyfriend loved it, and he has a long history with chicken fried steak!

a tip that works for me is to bread it, as per the recipe, then put it on a cookie sheet or a plate (not overlapping the pieces, then freeze it solid.
take it out of the freezer and fry it.
    proceed with the recipe.

Being born and raised in Texas I can honestly say I am a connoisseur of Chicken Fried Steak! I am so hard to please that I have never even attempted making CFS. However, Bobby knocked this one out of the park!! Don't be afraid of the spicy ingredients, they MAKE the crust!!! It was EASY to prepare and easier to eat!! Enjoy folks!!

We are already looking forward to the next time we make this dish; will be sure to pound the beef cutlets much thinner, and maybe do something to the gravy so it has a little more viscosity: Industrial paste in an understatement.

This is the best country-chicken-fried steak I have ever had !!! I also like how the gravy seconds as spackle for the repairs needed in my kitchen. Thank you Bobby Flay!!! By the way we made bacon wrapped asparagus and it was grand.

My family loved it! The chicken fried steak had great flavor and crunch and the gravy was great on the mashed potatoes I made with it.
