I thought these cookies were phenomenal. They taste just like some of my favorite chocolate chip cookies but they do not need the shortening in them like those do. They're crisp on the edges and soft in the middle.

They came out perfect! Instead of chocolate chips I used reeses pieces instead in one batch and chopped pieces of snickers in another and they were awesome! All three batches were phenomenal. I used stone bakeware so I increased bake time to 13 minutes. Loved them.

Great recipe. I did not fold in the chocolate chunks but I spread them over each cookie before baking (after placing the dough on to the baking sheet I pressed them slightly with the back of a spoon. Same taste, better looking cookies....

    Bobby,

I'm surprised you don't recommend Valrhona chocolate. I think it is a much better product for cooking.

These were delicious! I used Calphalon baking sheets, and alternated sheets cooking six, 2T size cookies at a time. I cooked them for 10 minutes, and they came out PERFECT!!! I only used semi sweet chips, but I couldn?t have asked for a better cookie; they are chewy and crispy around the edges and not the least bit crumbly, like my past experiences making CCCs.
