The batter was easy to make, and after folding in the chocolate (I used chocolate chips the batter was gorgeous and you could tell the cookies were gonna be great! The recipe says 11 minutes at 375, and I kept all three batches of mine in for 13 minutes on the dot, and they came out soft and tasty. It really all depends on your oven though....I could have kept mine in for 12 and they would have set a little more moist, but no regrets here. Don't be afraid to take them out even when they look like they're not cooked on top...they are.....and they will rest and set to perfection. Just look for some golden brown around the edges and a few air pockets popping on top and you're good. I highly recommend this recipe!

This is easily a GREAT recipe. I've made them 4 times now and they're divine. You get the 'fault-lines' that make a flat, chewy, yummy cookie. THis is a definite must-try. I hate cake-like cookies, and this is about as far away from that as possible. THe key to good Choc. Chip cookies is the flour/sugar/butter ratios. And this is IT! TRY IT, you won't regret it.

I can't believe that Tyler's chocolate chip cookie recipe was given rave reviews by over 300 people. I tried it and it's NOTHING compared to this recipe! At 11 minutes, the cookies came out moist and chewy in the middle and crisp on the edges. What more can you ask for in a chocolate chip cookie?! A few tips though. I combined all the ingredients in one bowl in the order given - flour, salt, baking soda, butter, sugar, eggs one at a time, and the vanilla extract. The butter was straight out of the fridge so the mixture was crumbly for quite a bit, but by the time I added the vanilla extract, the batter righted itself. It wasn't runny so no need to refrigerate before placing on the baking sheet. Give this recipe a try. Definitely earns a place in your recipe collection!

Remember when you were little and every batch of cookies you made with mom or grandma always came out perfect? Well, since I've moved out and started a family of my own, I've been on the quest for the perfect cookies. Even with a little tweaking with the ingredients I had on hand, I'm happy to say that I've finally found it after trying dozens of recipes.I used just semi-sweet chocolate chips and regular light brown sugar and it came out perfect. I even added 1/4c. cocoa powder to the dough to make it extra chocolatey. I put the dough in the fridge for 30 minutes so it wouldn't flatten too much like the other reviewers have commented. The result- moist, chewey cookies- might even be better than what mom used to make! My husband and my son loved them. Even brought some to work the day after and it was a hit with my coworkers, too!

What i liked about the cookies was the two different types of chocolate chips and also the softness of the cookies. They were great and my family loved them.

These are the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever made at home. In my opinion what makes these cookies unique is their sweetness and texture. Way better than toll house recipe (which is what my family has used for years. Watch out though - the more cookies you eat, the more you want!
