I was actually disappointed with this recipe. I would not have expected it to be so bland, considering all the different types of cheeses used. It was a waste of money on so many differ types of cheeses. I followed this recipe to the T. I would not use it again.

We changed this quite a bit, but the mix of cheeses and flavor were incredible. My kids both said this was the best mac and cheese they'd ever had. We didn't add any eggs, and so just cooked it on the stove top for a much quicker, creamier meal. The cheese purchases were well worth it, as again the flavor was so delicious. I agree that warming the half and half first was important. Also, we used more velveeta like she said 1 lb rather than 1 cup.

This MacnCheese was really good. But I wasn't blown away. I also used Swiss instead of Gruyere(cause the $$ was piling up on this recipe. I also only used 6 eggs to avoid the quiche texture people talked about. And I used a deep 13x9 lasagna pan and could not fit everything in. And follow the tip to warm the half&half so cheese melts easier.

Hands down this is the BEST MAC AND CHEESE EVER!!!!!! If you make this and it doesn't come out creamy and perfect then you did something wrong! I have made this dish several times although it is very expensive to make, my family loves it everytime. Just a bit of advice to let everyone know you can't subsitute any one of the cheeses or the recipe for that matter it comes out perfect everytime. Good luck!

I'm sorry this recipe just didnt do it for me at all. It was more like cafeteria mac & cheese. Way too many eggs! No creaminess or cheesy ooey gooyness. It was stiff and a bit dry. Very disappointed and a big waste of money.
