I will try this recipe, with the exception I will add Dark Rum or KY Bourbon, nutmeg, Orange food color, pumpkin spice in small amount and possibly some Creme Fraiche. The recipe sounds good but that's not the traditional recipe I grew up with, There should also be a small amount of flour 2 TBS or so added to the mix.

I didn't make the crust, only the filling. I think the recipe was missing a couple of key directions, but an experienced cook could fill in the blanks.

I grow my own pumpkins for pie and this recipe worked nicely. I will use it again. It was very simple and very traditonal which is what my family likes.

I took your original receipe and tweeked it a little. I used honey instead of sugar, added vanilla and some whole star anise to tweek the flavor a little and instead of using a reglar pie pan I used small tart cups for individual servings. I had pumpkin pie spices but added some extra cinnamon.

The pie is in the oven right now, and I'm baffled. It smells good and will probably taste just fine. But the recipe left out a key detail, like how long to bake the crust. When I got done making the pie filling I had twice as much as could possibly fit in the pie crust.

This recipe tasted delicious. It followed Libby's (brand of canned pumpkin closely, but differed in that it called for brown sugar instead of just sugar. I thought that made a nice difference in the taste of the pie.
