Only problem I had was that it disappeared so darn quickly!! :- How do grown children know when the perfect time to stop by to taste test a new recipe when they had such difficulty getting home on time as teenagers?!?!?
Love your show and recipes Trisha... keep up the great work.
    Thanks for sharing,
    Connie

Wow & Yum! I watched this episode with my 9 year old daughter today & she was inspired to make it. We had crescent roll dough already, so we tried it with that instead & it was delicious!!! We've found a new dessert, so quick & easy! I will definitely share this & make it again. Thank you.

Trisha you ROCK! Just made them this afternoon and they are marvelous. The only thing I changed was 1/2 cup splenda and 1/2 cup sugar. Love your show and want to come have lunch with you. (You cook

I thought this was perfect as is. No changes. The granny smiths melted like applesauce, and the cinnamon super made the tops nice and crusty! A keeper for sure!

Great idea, & really enjoy Trisha's show. 5 STAR recipe after removing some of the sugar. I love chocolate, candy, sugar, however these were way too sweet & sugary, even with the sour Granny Smiths. Next time i would drop the sugar to a scant 1/2 C. In the boiling water - syrup mixture & change the 1/4 C. To 1/8 C. with 3 tsp. cinnamon sprinkled over the top. Otherwise they would have been divine! Packing up all except the 1 tried & sending them off to work.

Saw the show and went out to get the ingredients right away. These were outstanding! I made them per the recipe, next time I might go 1/2 C white and 1/4 C light Brown for the sugar in the syrup.

OMG! These are so yummy. What a fabulous sweet treat. I would like a little more sauce and a little thinner to drizzle over them so I would probably add more water to recipe. Fabulous.

These were fabulous!!! I made them just as the original recipe directed and they were easy and tasty!
But I also wanted to see if I could make a healthier, "sugar-free" version, so I played around with it and my sugar-free version also came out GREAT! I just swapped the water for Trader Joes Spiced Cider (just glorified apple juice and spices and substituted the sugar for agave (instead of 3/4 c sugar, I used 1/2 c agave in the hot sugar mixture. I sprinkled cinnamon at the end without any sugar added to it. I actually think I like my sugar-free version better and I avoided going into a sugar coma...
Thanks Trisha! I really enjoy your show!
P.S. -- In a perfect world, I would love to have healthier versions offered of your yummy, country, home-cooked food alongside your original recipes :+
