I've been making a dish, VERY much like this, for a good well a life time let me say. I use Bush's Baked Beans for mine. It's SO much better. I still add in a little brown sugar and syrup. Had to drop the baking part 'cause when my family knows what I'm making they want it as soon as it's "done".
This dish is a hit in my home!! My husband could not stop talking about how good it was the whole time he was eating. I followed the recipe to the letter and added one additional ingredient, cut up hot dogs. I put the hot dogs in just before sliding the dish in the oven. My husband said he wouldn't change a thing. Thank you for the great recipe!!!
I have made a few times now because family always request. The only change i made was that i used pinto beans instead of pork and beans. I drain the beans before adding. Came out perfect, not runny.
What a great thing to do with canned pork and beans! Sauce is delicious.
Fantastic!!!!!! I've made it a few times, always a smash hit. Grumpy husband now requests it. Trisha's recipes are wonderful
    Delicious!! Will make this again!
My boyfriend just made this last was delicious~we both loved it! He made it just as written, baked it...came out perfect, not a bit runny or liquidy as reviewer below experienced. We ate it as the main dish, (it's plenty substantial with the ground beef in it), with just some crunchy french bread on the side. It's a keeper we will be making again and again! Thanks Trisha!
This was sooooo goood! My husband says its a "keeper"!
So easy to fix. I make this by request on almost every camping trip we go on. We camp about every 2-3 weeks each summer. So tasty, kids and adults love them.
Made this recipe for a July 4th celebration at our daughter's home. It was a HUGE success! Everyone came for seconds! Easy and soooo good!
love this recipe taste is great a great one for the 4th BBQ will for sure make this often
Loved this recipe. Great for a potluck. I did add chopped jalapenos and some green hot sauce. It was great.
I made the full recipe and we will have leftovers for days, will half the recipe next time. Next time I will not use as much hamburger or add another can of beans, to much meat for us. Also, I suggest using a little hot sauce or pepper just to wake it up a little bit.
We made these the very next day...they were easy and tasted great! All of boys said "this is a keeper recipe!"
I planned on making a different pulled pork recipe when I saw this episode. I wasn't sure if this casserole would be overkill. It was fantastic! So glad I went for it.... this dish was so much better than anything else in the meal. I can't wait to try Trisha's pulled pork.
Baked beans with a kick! Really a great dish on it's own. We had it tonight with sliced tomatoes from our garden!
This was an easy dish to divide in half for just my hubby and I. May add a bit more BBQ sauce next time. Delish!
I LOVE the use of canned pork and beans! Time saver! This casserole is delish and easy, and was a hit at our BBQ. I added a little chorizo I had left over, and it was great. :
Sweet and runny. Followed the recipe as written.
It is a little on the sweet side, but I didn't think too sweet (and I don't like things too sweet, prefer savory dishes)...but I bet you could tweek it to be less so by decreasing all the sweet ingredients like the brown sugar and even the ketchup. As for the runny aspect, bake it uncovered, maybe let it set up for while before serving, drain some of the beans liquid?
