I this version of lasagna interesting and it tasted good, however, I'm Italian and I feel you can make this healthy using fat free ricotta of using farmers cheese instead of the tofu. In addition, I could tell when I was watching the show that the sauce was way too thick and there wasn't enough of it so I made my own sauce and added some her ingredients to it. I don't like dry lasagna so I made sure to add lots of sauce and it came our moist and delish!!! I loved the idea of adding the black beans. I used regular lasagna noodles but could have used whole wheat. Not something I would eat all the time due to all of the carbs but definitely something to make once in a while.
By the Way, I loved watching Trisha and Garth together in the kitchen. What a great sense of humor they have and you can tell how much fun they were having and how much they love one another. Please make more of shows with Trisha and Garth!!!!

I tried this recipe and loved it . Made a few modifications used whole wheat pasta. I added 1 extra small can of tomato sauce and a cup of water. 1/4 of ground soy. It fooled my husband. He thought he was eating meat. Also added rice mozzarella. It was not bland at all. I will make it again

This was the best lasagna that I have ever made!!! I will definitely make this one again and again. I used an Italian seasoning blend instead in the tofu ricotta. I also added in some fresh diced red pepper & celery into the red sauce - have to get as many veggies into the family as I can!!. I had homemade red sauce from another recipe that I poured an extra cup over the top. I'm a cheese lover so I added a little extra on the top too. It was awesome!! Thank you for sharing this one.

I followed the recipe and surprisingly, I found this to be a little bland and dry. But I know it's very healthy for me, so I won't throw this recipe out. I tasted the tofu ricotta after I made it in the food processor and thought that tasted good. I will try to use the tofu ricotta in something else in the future. I think next time I make this recipe, I will need a little more sauce and salt. Maybe some crushed red too.

Absolutely INCREDIBLE! I made this hoping that we had found a "cure" to my lactose challenged family members and I was so happy with the results! It took some convincing to get over the thought of tofu instead of ricotta cheese but we LOVED it! I even made a batch for my boyfriend's shift and the reviews were all positive. I did change it up a bit and added 1 lb. of ground turkey, and swapped out one can of the black beans.. Whether you are looking for a meat hearty, or a meatless lasagna, this recipe is top notch! It's an added bonus to know now that we can work around the cheese factor for other Italian dishes - WINNING!
Thank you, Trisha for giving us a great cheese alternative that is healthy AND yummy!

This was awesome! I added Mozzarella Cheese to my layers and to the top. I also added 1 can of tomato sauce to make the sauce spread as previous reviews said the sauce was rather dry, other than that this recipe was delish! Would certainly make this again, I also loved how affordable it was to make. The most expensive item was the cashews.
