  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • One 8-ounce package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup grated sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Monterey Jack cheese
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 dash cayenne pepper
  • 8 butter crackers, crushed, such as Ritz
  • 8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • Corn chips, crackers or bagel chips, for serving
Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

In a medium bowl, mix the mayonnaise, cream cheese, Cheddar cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, green onions and cayenne pepper. Transfer the mixture to a shallow baking dish, such as a 9-inch pie pan. Top the mixture with the cracker crumbs and bake until heated through, about 15 minutes.

Remove the pan from the oven and top with the bacon. Serve immediately with corn chips, crackers or bagel chips.

    This is way too good, and so easy to make.
    This is yummy! I served mine with pita chips. Received many compliments and I will definitely make again. Just make you serve it right after it comes out oven and is still plenty hot.
    Absolute deliciousness!! Only 2 slight changes. We used potato chips instead of crackers because we're gluten free and real bacon bits [Costco] instead of frying up 8 slices. I topped it with the bacon after the 15 minutes in the oven then stuck it back in for just a minute or two more to sorta heat the bacon. Fabulous! This is a keeper!
    This is great just as the recipe calls for. Most of the time don't have green onions but it does add a bit more flavor if you have them. Made this for lots of parties, family gatherings etc. Always gone and always asked for the recipe!
    Very yummy! I made a few changes though, used all medium cheddar cheese, used about 5 chopped green onions, 2 tbsp dry ranch dip, doubled the amount of bacon (I used the precooked kind, just microwaved it til crisp and chopped), I used half in the recipe and the other half sprinkled on top before baking. I also sprinkled chives on top before baking.
    Very good makes a large amount, how long will this keep in the fridge?
    I really wanted to like this easy-to-make appetizer. It wasn't what I'd hoped for. It was literally too 'cheesy' and so rich that it wasn't something you'd want to eat more than one bite of. I won't be making this again.

    I had this dip at a Christmas party yesterday. It latest about 15 minutes. So many requests for the recipe. I did omit the crackers and I included the cooked bacon in the dip as it was baking.
    This was the dip of the gods!!!!!!!!! My husband hates most every dip out there but alas he fell in love with this! We had it three times over Thanksgiving. We also put it in my version of an egg mc muffin, on top of baked potatoes and on hot dogs! Yes all in one weekend. The turkey well poor thing was not the star. I am making this with crab and shrimp this week as seafood is my weakness. Trisha this dip and also your chicken tortilla soup just made our holiday. I thank you.
    I've made this several times. Always a huge hit at parties! The Ritz crackers make a huge difference.
    Easy and delicious. I left off the crackers and let the crumbled bacon be the topping. I added diced green chiles to it.

    This recipe would be great with more ingredients like garlic powder and more green onions. I will try it again in my way without crackers.
    I love cheese but I thought the sharp cheddar cheese took over the recipe. I could not taste the cream cheese. I will probably try again and use regular cheddar cheese. If I could rate foodnetwork.com for the full page view of their recipes I would give them 10 stars.
    Great recipe and easy to fix. I left out the bacon and used grated onion instead of the green onions and got a lot of compliments from guests at the party.

    This is a great recipe - easy and absolutely delicious. Can be made in advance which is always a plus. My guests absolutely loved it. One of those recipes you can't stop eating. Just make sure you make enough for the number of guests. A definite go-to for me.
    This was great! The only thing I did different was stir the bacon into the dip then top with the cracker crumbs. It was easer dipping that way.
    I have made this several times for entertaining and it is always a hit. Best part is that I can prep it the night before, leave it in the fridge and then pop it in the oven just before my guest arrive. People beg me for this receipe which I glady supply. I also serve Tricia's receipe for hot corn dip which is a bit more mexican so it is nice to be able to alternate the two dishes. Highly recommend.

    in my family we call the the "to die for dip" it is an often requested dip for parties!
    Like canary, my mom put this on english muffins also, but added crab meat instead of bacon and no cracker crumbs. I prefer it that way to be honest
