I made this the other night, along with the mashed potatoes. I used thighs I brined them over night and fried the way the recipe was written. The skin was alittle on the dark side, but not burned. I think 12 mins on the first side would have been enough time, but it was the best fried chichen I have made, very moist and flavorful I added alittle cayene pepper to the flour for alittle heat. My husband ate 3 out of the 4 thighs! This is DEFINATLEY a keeper, thanks Trisha I love your show!

Thank you Trisha for teaching me how to make great fried chicken like my Mom use too! She died over 20 years ago and that is one thing I did not learn from her. A lot of your recipes remind me of my Mom's cooking. She was from Kansas so she had that country flare to her. I love your show! I DVR every show. You are a great teacher and a joy to watch!! YOU are a Food Network Star!

I brined mine about 8 hours and I used chicken wings, it was a little salty and next time with wings I'll just use less salt but the wings were the best I've ever cooked. I fried mine for 10 minutes on each side with the lid cracked, not covered and they were perfect....I'm not a good fryer and I will use this recipe with drumsticks/legs next time.

Sorry to be negative. I tried this out of curiosity, and it definitely was missed alot with a egg/milk bath and any seasoning in the flour. Also, 15 minutes covered at 375 burnt the flour. Brown the chicken on all sides, then turn the heat down and cover works much better.

I tried this recipe for my very, very picky kids and husband. They loved it! I posted a picture of it on my facebook page. (Trisha: I DVR'ed the episode because I was at Garth's concert in Vegas on the 21st! Thank you again for letting me take a picture with you and him after the concert! Memories for a lifetime!

I forgot to brine it the night before but it said you could brine for 4 hours so I did it for almost 6. It was tasty, not to die for but good. The milk gravy was a little bland despite the salt I added. The leftover cold chicken later was much better than the original finished product.

Thank you Trisha!!! I also have never made fried chicken in my life. You made it look so easy I decided to try it. Already had chicken in the fridge, so I put it in the brine overnight and fried it up yesterday. It was delicious!! Very moist and juicy and the skin was very crisp and not greasy. Hubby loved it too. As I will be turning 54 in a few days, goes to show - you CAN teach an old dog new tricks - THANKS!

I've never made fried chicken in my life. But after seeing the show, I decided to try. I made the fried chicken, mashed potatoes and pecan pie. They all came out perfectly. The overnight brine really worked well. The flavor of the chicken really popped. Great recipe - easy and delicious.
