I made this pie for my mother in laws 80th birthday. She once told me that her mom use to make her a lemon meringue pie for her as a child. I thought I would bring back those fine memories and I did with this wonderful pie. Everyone loved it especially my mother in law. Thanks Trisha, your recipes are great

this is what is called a lemon iced box pie. Been making it for years. It is easy and quick! There is no condensed milk in a regular lemon meringue pie in the South. I love all of Trisha's recipes. I print them out and put them in a 3 ring binder.

It was awful, nothing like any lemon meringue pie I've ever had, my husband wouldn't touch it. Going back to using a box of lemon pudding for a no fail lemon meringue pie.

Just made this Today, LOVE IT and I don't like Lemon meringue.. I cheated tho and Used a Pre-made crust and it Turned out Great.

This was a wonderful and easy to make pie! We all loved it and I don't even like meringues usually. I am not familiar with making pie crusts but with this one I basically doubled the butter amount because it didn't seem like it was holding together. Not sure if I should have or not because it was very firm after it was cooked. I used unsalted butter...maybe its better with salted? Anyways, it turned out fabulous and it was a huge hit! I will definitely make this again! Thank you Trisha!!!! You rock:

It was Delicious! I fixed it for our Thanksgiving Dinner Dessert and everyone loved it! Thanks for the tip on when to add the sugar to the merquine. It was one of the prettiest pies I've ever made. Thank you Trisha for sharing your family recipes with their secrets and tried and true tips.
