Simple Syrup:

Special equipment: a mason jar

Fill an old-fashioned glass with ice. In a mason jar, combine the brandy, Simple Syrup, cherry juice, orange bitters and regular bitters. Shake very well to combine. Pour into the prepared glass and top with a splash of soda. Garnish with cherries and orange slices.

Simple Syrup:

Bring the sugar and 1 cup water to a simmer in a small saucepan; cook until the sugar is dissolved. Let cool. Refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
