Ok, so I was Very Skeptical, yet curious, about this recipe, so I held off until after Thanksgiving to try it. Followed the recipe exactly. BEST TURKEY EVER!!!!!!!!! Moist, flavorful and tender!! We did not need to carve it as it was falling off the bone. I am a darn good cook, but Trisha, I have to hand The Blue Ribbon to you!

Easily the best tasting turkey I ever made. Juicy, tender, and easy!!!! My family raved about it. I am not a turkey person because I hate the dryness, but this turkey was so moist I just couldn't believe it. I noticed some people trying to do this with foil, and they had dry turkey. You have to use a covered roaster. I actually was away so I went to Walmart to buy a roaster and they only had a really cheap one, but it worked great. For extra flavor I used a mixture of vegetable and chicken stock instead of the water. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Good

If anyone is looking for Trisha's roaster, I spotted it on Qvc website. It comes in red or black. I wish I had it because I covered my roasting pan with foil and it didn't brown. The turkey was very moist and the gravy turned out really light colored, but very flavorful! Reminded me back when I tried cooking a turkey in a bag, but better. All in all Yummy! Will use recipe again!

If I hadn't seen the program where Trisha cooked this I would have been skeptical. It turned out perfect! I've told people about this recipe and they have had the same comments. Won't ever cook a turkey any other way.

While it was easy my turkey was dry. I did not have a covered roaster so I used heavy duty foil and made sure it was covered tight. I believe it was overcooked so I would try it again and leave it @ 500 for 45 min and t urn it off. It could also be that my oven temp is off. It is definitely tasty andeasy so worth a 2nd try!

I cooked my Thanksgiving turkey using this recipe, with a few changes. I lifted the skin on the breast and rubbed butter on the meat. I also put carrots and celery on the bottom of my roasting pan, to act as a rack. Other than tying up my oven for seven hours, this was the best turkey. My two daughters-in-law were waiting patiently or impatiently for this to come out of the oven. Both then admitted to me that they didn't like turkey because it is too dry, and they both loved this, so much that one had my son cook their Christmas turkey like this.

Made this for my Thanksgiving turkey. I did not have a roasting pan, so I used 2 disposable roasting pans, which I think was the reason that the turkey did not brown. However, this was the moistest, most tender turker I have ever had. The next time I make this, I might leave the cover off the pan during the initial hot oven hour.

God Bless Ya, Trisha!! This was the easiest recipe for Roasted Turkey I have ever tried!! -- My family loved it! The meat comes out moist and yummy, it browns perfectly and I wasn't a nervous wreck with basting or being up all night changing the oven temperature! It was so easy, I've used it 2 more times since Thanksgiving! Yippee!! And Thank You!!
