My husband and I were QUITE skeptical when we decided to try this out. OMG!! It was falling off the bone!!!! Had a "close to" 12 pound turkey. I baked for an hour and then it was in the oven for 7 hours.
UNBELIEVEABLE!!! Will definetly use again!!!!!!!! WOOT! WOOT!!
We would like to know "how" in the world did your mother ever figure this FANTABULOUS way to do this??? Trial and error??

Loved this turkey. I made it for Thanksgiving and it was perfect. My husband, daughter and I were skeptical. I have an electric oven and wasn't sure if it would work for this recipe. It was so moist and tasty that I am using this recipe again for Christmas. I even hunted down the same red roaster Trisha uses. My family was impressed and we are passing this recipe on to everyone.

Seriously, this is the best turkey recipe ever. I was a bit hesitant, worried it wouldn't be fully cooked. I got rave reviews at the dinner table. The white meat was moist and it fell right off the bone.
