WOW!!! I could not believe how moist and good it was. I have plans for my next bird, put some herb butter under the skin, and add some citrus in the cavity. The only thing I need to do was take the foil off the last 30 min to brown the bird. So much easier and no FUSS.

Thank you, Trisha for sharing your recipes with the us. Keep them coming.

Awesome!! Since I always cook the turkey for my husband's family at Thanksgiving, I wanted to try your method and everyone loved it! We had a 14lb turkey and cooked it for 1 1/2 hours and it turned out great! What a time saver for oven space!! Thanks for sharing!

IT WORKS!!!! Thank you so much Trisha for this recipe. I was hesitant at first but then I said what the heck. It is the best turkey I have ever roasted and being 53 that is a lot of birds.

Thank you, thank you, thank you- this was the first full bird that I've cooked. Like others I was a little worried that this wouldn't turn out. This cooking method produced a wonderful bird. I will do this again for sure. I substituted chicken broth for the water, made my own garlic herb butter, used a roasting pan with a lid and placed the turkey on a roasting rack with handles. No worries here as long as you follow the directions...do not exceed the weight limit and make sure you thaw your bird correctly, and say good bye to all the self imposed pressure to have everything go smoothly. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with our in-laws :

Turkey was done fantastic. I left it in 5 hours after the initial hour of cooking. The only thing I did was put the over on for about an hour at the end to brown it more. Was the easiest turkey I ever made. No fuss.

I tried this recipe after seeing it on the show. I have to say, I am pretty disappointed. The turkey is swimming in broth (which is fine, I can make alot of gravy but the turkey didn't brown at all. It seems moist, but is very pale. I really was hoping for a browned bird, I may need to put it under the broiler

This was the best easiest Turkey I have made in my 25 years of making thankgsgiving...I wish I had known! I will tell EVERYONE about this method!!!! I used chicken broth instead of water, used onion garlic and lemon in my turkey and massaged it all over with garlic butter infused with Tastefully Simple Rustic Herb seasoning which I swear was made for roasting birds (I used to buy a premade rub but they stopped making it and this is much better. My biggest fear was the skin wouldn't be golden and crispy...NOT True perfectly golden brown!!!! Yeah! I am sippin my coffee giggling like a kid RELAXING on thanksgiving instead of basting!!!

Oh my gosh! I can't believe how easy this is!!! I will continue with the recipe from now on. I can't wait til I get back to work to tell the ladies. I had a 11.67 pounder, after turnin off the oven, I left it alone for 4 hours. The pan was still warm when I took it out of the oven. I lifted the lid and I couldn't believe it. . The clean up was amazing.

    Thanks Trisha for sharing :

So moist and tasty! I am 68 years old and considered to be a fairly good cook by my family and friends. My old way of cooking turkey is over for me. This will be my recipe from now on. I can't think of one 'down' side to it. I was prepared for it to be a flop, but was so surprised! Best turkey I've ever cooked! .. and the best gravy, to boot! Thanks, Trisha. I'll be trying alot more of your recipes since this one has proven to be a keeper. I guess you CAN teach an old dog new tricks. :-

Best and easiest turkey I have ever cooked! I stuffed the cavity of the turkey with an apple, carrots, onion and celery. I seasoned the turkey with coarse salt, pepper and poultry seasoning. The breast was so moist and I had the best gravy ever! This is a no fail way to cook a turkey!
