Pretty good. Gave 4 stars because I did change recipe around. Used 1 pound of fresh spicy sausage, not that tubed sausage. Added 2 cups of freshly grated sharp cheddar, used the 3 cups of bisquick and added 2 eggs to help bind everything. Also seasoned generously with salt/pepper. Didn't use a mixer, kneaded the mix like dough for 5 minutes till everything was incorporated very well. Came out like a little sausage biscuit, good for a breakfast.

I wanted to try this recipe, but after reading several reviews, I had my reservations.

My sis-n-law and I decided to make the recipe using 2 cups of Bisquick Mix. They came out okay (her boys ate them but they were dense. She used the sausage right out of the fridge, and added the sausage to the flour mix. (I thought that the cold sausage added to the flour created a dense texture. On the second try, the sausage was at room temp.

I made a half recipe (1 cup of Bisquick, 1/2 of sausage tube, and 8 oz of cheddar cheese. I didn't add salt because the ingredients are salty already. I used a paddle mixer, and started the sausage first, adding small amounts of the Bisquick to the sausage. Right before the Bisquick is all incorporated, add the cheese. Do not over mix & let it set for about 5 mins before rolling out little balls. I rolled out the balls a bit smaller than my sis-in-law did.

The second batch came out better. They were lighter, and less doughy tasting.

I wish I would have read the reviews first. Recipe calls for to
Much flour. It was hard to shape them so I had to add water
They had no taste. What a waist :(

is ok but had to lose a whole batch before i realized you can't let them get to brown and you should turn them once brown on one side would be better with some kind of dip, not sure which one yet.

Too dry and tasteless. I made this recipe exactly as stated. I think this recipe is a good base for endless possibilities. Also I think recipes on this site should be rated by the exact recipe instructions, not rated by the additions made by the reviewers. I do appreciate the reviews of all recipes but think reviewers should rate the exact recipe, not their spin, just saying.

AWESOME, GREAT recipe and so easy to make!! This is a five star recipe no doubt. Very few ingredients needed. We used mild sausage instead of hot because that's what was in our refrigerator. The Sausage Hors d'Oeuvres still had a kick even though we used mild and they tasted awesome and they also went along way! You would've thought that we used hot sausage. If mixing by hand just add 2 cups of water!! EASY and 5 STARS

These were difficult to roll because they were too dry; probably, too much flour. I don't know why salt and pepper is even in the recipe since cheese and sausage is naturally seasoned and plenty salty. The flavor was okay, but I will probably adjust this recipe to my liking. Perhaps, cutting out a cup of flour or adding more cheese. However, on the next day after microwaving a few, they were much better... a little more moist, in fact. And I must admit, I did not grate the cheese myself which could have been problematic in texture.

It would have been very good, except there was too much baking mix. The sausage balls were dry. I think that 2 to 2 1/4 cups of baking mix would have been just right, and this is what I will use the next time I make it. I love most of Trisha's recipes, and love her show!

I made these yesterday for the Superbowl, I should of read the reviews PRIOR to making them. They were good, but 3 cups of the baking mix is way too much. Next time we will use less of it and they also need a dipping sauce on the side. We already had some warm spicy nacho-cheese and also they were also good with a spicy ketchup. I will ALWAYS read reviews before trying out something new!! Thanks Trisha and those who wrote these reviews!!
