I made this just now and after about an hour I checked it and all the chocolate was melted and peanuts were perfect. I also used half peanuts and half cashews. I think next time I'm going to use less white almond bark and use special dark chocolate instead if semi sweet chocolate chips. This recipe makes a lot of candy. If you're making this for a small family you should half the recipe. My co workers will be getting some of this Monday. This was a simple recipe. Will most definitely make it again. TIP: use a crock pot liner. I did. Thank you Trisha. I love your show..

There could be so many variations with this recipe...

Mint extract for a yummy chocolate mint candies
    Peanut butter chips
Special dark chocolate instead of semi sweet
    Coconut extract
Peppermint extract and crushed candy cane around Christmas time
Peppermint extract and crushed candy canes using ALL white almond bark.

I have made this several times and it is awesome! I've done simple variations: drizzled melted caramel on top with slivered almonds, toasted coconut, or chopped mixed nuts. I'm called the "Candy Lady" where I volunteer! Thank you, Trisha, this is a keeper. I have no idea why others are having issues. I even halved all ingredients and the cooking time and it makes a ton.

I did this. It was easy. The only problem is to know the temperature of your slow cooker. i did not need all three hours. This was my second time. The first time, I left it for 3 hours and it burned, have to throw it out, what a waste. But the second time, I was more mindful and it was easy and delicious. Thank you Tricia Yearwood.

This dessert looked taste and easy. However, as others have noted it does not work. After having read the reviews, I was careful to check it every hour. At no time did the ingredients melt completely like it showed on the episode. I did not smell any burning. So, after 3 hours I stirred it and found the nuts to be somewhat burned and the concoction rather dry. It was boiling on the bottom, but benign on the surface. I spooned it into the cups and the result was a lumpy, dry candy. It tasted OK, but was not the smooth confection one it lead to believe.

I see others have questioned the temperature of their cookers. I also wondered if this varies from brand to brand. I think it would be a good idea for this recipe to contain cautions as to temperature and ways to test this prior to making the candy. Chocolate and nuts are quite expensive, so I won't be making this candy again. A real disappointment!!

I am so disappointed. I watched the video and did exactly as instructed with very expensive ingredients. My peanuts burned and ruined the whole thing. Can anyone tell me what went wrong?

I made this last Friday....i am not a baker or even like chocolate but had family coming in and they had loved the crack Trisha had made so I tossed it all in the crock pot on low but only bought one package of the almond bark and three hours later it was all melty....i then spooned the mix into cup cake liners and set in the fridge......everyone loved it....i think if i used two packages of almond bark it would be too sweet.....i am gonna make it again but use almonds instead of peanuts and then mix in coconut and make almonds joys.

I borrowed some tips from reviewers and topped some of mine with coarse salt. Some I even mixed in a little cayenne pepper with the salt. I mean very little, you don't want to fry tongues. I read the reviews and watched my crockpot and checked for the smell of burning peanuts. Mine is old, so low means LOW, and it took the full three hours. I put them into mini-muffin papers too, based on reviews. Full size ones would be an awful lot of candy. Came out very nicely, I would definitely do this for an event. As it is, there is so much that it's going to work with my husband tomorrow, enough for his department and the whole staff on the other floor! It's about 80 pieces I believe!

This recipe looked so easy, we just had to try it! She said on her show, not to worry, the peanuts would not burn....well, they didn't just burn, they were burnt to a CRISP! Ruining the whole recipe, which costs $20 in ingredients! I will NOT be trying this again. Disappointed.

OMG, These were fantastic!! I am sorry to hear all of the bad reviews.I found the Almond Bark at Walmart, if that helps. I watched this show 2 times and did it to the recipe and show. I made them the Sunday before Easter, they stayed perfect for a week. There were none left and my whole family (even the picky Aunts were asking for more. I have an older crock pot and it worked very well, nothing burned. Mine were a big hit and I would not change a thing. My family asked if I would make them for every Sunday Dinner, we have dinner every Sunday together!!! Thanks again Trisha, these were a big hit. Kathy from Connecticut
