Giving this 4 stars because I had to make it twice to get it right!
It only takes about 1 1/2 hours total on low, I stirred it as soon as I could and kept at it until it was done, then left on warm for 15 minutes while I put it in cups and also did some just on waxed paper. The second time was wonderful. I also used only 1 1/2 jars of peanuts and oiled the crockpot just a bit before putting in the ingredients. Believe me, its really good, last time after 3 hours I needed a jack hammer to get it out of the crock pot. Give it another try.

BURNT MESS! I am furious about this recipe. I have a Rival crock-pot that is maybe a year and a half old. I followed the recipe perfectly and got a burnt pile of crud! I don't have money to throw away & this batch cost me almost $20 for NOTHING. My crock pot has keep warm, low, and high. I cooked this for 3 hours on low. What am I not getting?? They even said it might smell like it is burning but don't worry. Obviously I should have worried. When 3 hours was up, I stirred & was met with blackened chunks of chocolate I guess. Even the almond bark was caramel in color. This was suppose to be my gift to friends. Now I don't have the money to re-do it & have a pile of burnt disgusting crap. I am furious.

Wonderful recipe! So easy. I used my 20 yr old crock pot set on low. I watched it carefully and stirred it after 1 hr. 30 min. Then left it another 15 min. and it was perfect.

Can you say YUMMY!!! I used a 6qt crock instead of a 4 because that's all I had. I kept it on low and it was done in 2 hrs. I did lift the lid off twice during that time to make sure my peanuts weren't burning (after reading some reviews and to see how much the chocolate had melted. Because it didn't look like it was oozing/melting but it was. I used a medium ice cream scoop to spoon into the cupcake papers. It made 7 dozen.

I had the same problem as many others, I only wish I had read these reviews before I attempted to make this. I followed the recipe to the letter. My 4qt crock pot on WARM (even double checked created a burnt chocolate nutty mess. Maybe if I had a digital temp. controlled crock, it would have made a difference but the basic crock killed it. It cannot be saved and must go in the trash when it cools. I am very disappointed because of the wasted cost. I dont think I will be trying this one again. Sorry Trisha... Love your show but this one just has too many variables.

HORRIBLE MESS!! AND EXPENSIVE MESS! I wish I had read the reviews. Did everything according to instructions and set on low went off to shop and two hours later the house reeked burnt peanuts!! Please correct this on website so others don't go through this expensive mess.

I loved it! I only use two pounds of almond bark added eight more ounces of simi sweet chocolate and 1 1/2 pounds of party peanuts. I set it to low and mixed half whay through (2hrs total. Instead of putting them in cupcake liners. I used my mini muffin pan (coated with cooking spray and freezed them for about 5-10 min. and they poped out with just a thump on the back of the pan. They remind me of a Mr. Goodbar.

Love this recipe! It is child friendly. My six year old son helped and a great time. I read the reviews first and adjusted the cooking time as my crockpot cooks fast. Mine was ready to stir at an hour. Next time I will try this with pecans. This recipe will definately go in my permanent recipe file. Thanks Trisha!!!

This recipe does not deserve even one star. It is not easy & I am an experienced cook. The chocolate does not melt evenly, too many nuts, is not smooth. Had to pick out the burned pieces of chocolate when putting into liners. A waste of time & money.

I was amazed at this recipe. So easy and so good. Had never thought to use the crock pot to melt chocolate. Some crock pots must have different settings. I let it cook for exactly 3 hours. Gives me lots of ideas for changing ingredients.
