I have made this soup several times - it is wonderful! I use 2% milk instead of half and half to cut out some fat and it's still great. This recipe is definitely a keeper!!!

I also followed this recipe as is. I made this along with Taco Soup for family who had been on the road all day traveling from Florida to Georgia for Thanksgiving. It was delicious and a big hit with everyone, as evidenced by the empty crock pot. The Taco Soup (which is also good is now in the freezer. It did call for more liquid than my crock pot would hold so I just left out some of the chicken broth. It was still good. I highly recommend. And will make it again. We basically had a Trisha Yearwood Thanksgiving--since I also made her Pecan Pie (the best and her asparagus and bacon (wonderful.

This was the best chicken tortilla soup I have had since leaving Houston and as good or better than any in Houston. It was easy and so amazingly good.

This is seriously delicious! It makes a BIG pot of soup, so I happily feast on it for leftovers! I always use a rotisserie chicken for any kind of soup, so that's the only difference I make. I just buy a Sam's Club chicken, pick it, and put it all in the pot. It's seriously an easy, quick, and just amazing soup that I plan on making forever! Thanks Trisha!

This really hits the spot on a cold night. Used pinto beans instead of kidney beans (we just really do not care for kidney beans but followed the recipe for all other ingredients. Really good!

Making this recipe was my first time ever making a Chicken Tortilla Soup. I have made this recipe for Trisha's Chicken Tortilla Soup several times now. It's a winner in my household. My family absolutely loves it. This recipe has been added to my cooking repertoire. Thank you Trisha!

This was really, really, really good. Really easy. Got a rotisserie chicken and I used my own salsa that I had canned from the garden this summer (very spicy. This was so good I am having it for my breakfast this morning. Was going to have it for lunch but couldn't keep my mind off of it.
UPDATE: Still making this recipe regularly! Now I am making double batches of it for leftovers. Otherwise there is hardly any leftover for lunches the next day.

Made this last week and was amazed with both the amount of soup it produced and the amazing flavor. I do agree with the reviewer that mentioned it had a lot of liquid but it won't keep me from making. I'll probably just adjust the cans of broth and half and half next time.
