I was overwhelmed by the amount of salad that this recipe produces! I used a small head of both cabbages and still have 2gallon bags in the fridge. I added some fresh bean sprouts that I had from my Asian store trek. Next time I will know to use tiny cabbages, also less sugar in the sauce because I want the main taste to be the lime and cilantro. Oh yeah, I used grape seed oil with just a few drops of toasted sesame oil instead of the olive oil. We like it and will take it to future family gatherings, thanks Trisha!

I just thought it was so-so. I make a Chinese Chicken Salad similar to this one but I like the dressing on that one much better than this one. I love cilantro but there was too much in it. The edamame was kinda tasteless. I added avocado but I also added some fresh mango cubed up, which was the only saving grace for the salad.

Way to oily and way to sweet. I would use 1/4-1/2 the oil and 1/4-1/2 the sugar.

I love the ingredients of this salad but will not use the dressing due to all the sugar and oil. I make my own dressings all of the time and often make a lime dressing using the following:
3- 4 tablespoons EVOO, juice of one lime, two cloves garlic grated into the dressing, 2 tablespoons good quality pure maple syrup (more or less according to your taste and salt and papper to taste. Whisk it all together and use it in this salad, on quinoa with roasted veggies and so many other things. You can add more or less lime depending on taste but it should have a sweet/sour flavor. It was great on Trish's salad

I is a good salad except for the mistakes in the dressing recipe. I also have a comment I watched the show twice and I swore I saw green beans in the salad? anyway I added them to mine cause I love em! I think you could add ANYTHING-vegetables- to this salad and I love the suggestion of the ramen and almonds! I used to have a salad recipe that called for the noodles and almonds and the spice packet in the dressing I will have to dig it out.

I'm crazy about the components of this salad but thought it was a little bland. I always make homemade dressings so I knew the ingredients for this dressing were off. I used the ingredients listed (except for sugar and I used agave nectar but tweaked them to the appropriate measurement. I'll definitely make this again but next time I'll add some fresh jalapeno and a little sesame oil to the dressing for a little kick. I also like the idea of another reviewer to add the avocado to the dressing.

The salad was wonderful but I will agree with many of the other reviews that you could easily cut the dressing recipe in half not just the recipe but the sugar and use a vegetable oil or a combo with the olive oil. I had 3/4 of the dressing left over and it was just too heavy of an oil flavor and too sweet and the sugar didn't dissolve like it should have so it was a gritty dressing as well. I could think of other dressings that would go better with it than this one. But please try the salad it was wonderful.

Salad Was Amazing! For the dressing I Used 3/4 cup EVOO, squeezed 4 limes, agave nector, a little sesame oil, and a half of an avocado, cilantro, and some sugar. Def used a small amount of sugar after reading that the reviews. Eating for days. great togo salad for work days!

Great recipe. I would just use 1/2 the sugar next time...a little too sweet. I also added avocado into the dressing and it was nice and creamy.
