This is the first time in all the years I've watched Foodnetwork that I've commented on a recipe. I always wait a week or two, to see how it's rated, and how others alter it. This soup was awesome. I did some of what others did. We're not fond of lima beans. I did add the 3/4 of a cup of pasta, I also added carrots, Italian squash, string beans, and I cut up 4 chicken tenders and added it.. It was so yummy! My husband does not really like veggies. He had to big bowls of this. He added a little crushed red pepper to his cuz he likes hot, and I sprinkled a bit of shredded jack cheese on mine....Super Good!

This veggie soup was so tasty and comforting! We made it for the first time today after seeing the demo on the show! It was so simple and it is absolutely delicious! It took no time at all and it is so versatile! But we really loved it the way it was! It is a very healthy and low calorie meal. We have a family of 5 and everybody loved it! We had salad with it as well and we look forward to trying Trisha's Corn Flake Chicken and her Dad's Apple Ambrosia! We are eating healthier for the new year!

Very easy basic veggie soup. Good in a pinch for time. My first time making it- I added diced celery, can of drained kitchen slice green beans. As an after thought, forgot the carrots and bay. I did use 16 oz of frozen butter beans instead of 10z lima. I also used petite diced tomatoes. For the seasoning, I added a pinch or two of marjoram and thyme and lots of pepper. I would have probably tossed in a bit of frozen corn as well for consistency. I'm happy with the outcome.

This is a good basic vegetable soup recipe. I just thought it needed more vegies. I added carrots, celery and about 8 large fresh brussel sprouts that I shredded. I sauteed all the vegies except the corn and potatoes. I also added a little tomato paste, worchestshire sauce and fresh garlic. Also threw in some crushed bay leaves. I used beef stock instead of chicken, and garnished each bowl with a little shredded parm. The brussel sprouts really put it over the top.

Not too bad...a little bland by itself...I ate it with garlic croutons and that spiced up the taste some. My husband liked it.

This is a soup that can be made anytime with normal ingredients you may have on hand. I agree with other reviewers that you could put some herbs in, which I will do next time. A very quick, easy, and delicious soup!

I just had to try it. The recipe was so easy but I added some spice like fire roasted /garlic diced tomatoes and 1 can of chopped of carrots. Love it!

Very, very bland. Too sweet due to the beans and corn.
