I personally found the dressing delightfully sweet in contrast to the bitterness of the arugula. Paired with a nice steak or pork loin it truly works. I feel that those who think it's overly sweet perhaps have a palate issue or they are just eating it on it's own. Put it with something that isn't sweet, or perhaps pair it with something spicy and maybe it can be appreciated.

Im 14 years old, and even I could make this salad. It is easier than making pancakes. The dressing combined with the arugula does lean towards the sweeter side, but I read the comments below beforehand and knew to lessen the amount of sugar/honey. Simple side salad for dinner, add pecans for extra taste.

After trying this, I am beginning to think homemade dressing is the way to go. Personally, I sometimes envision vast fields of clover when eating arugula because of its taste. The dressing has to be really good, otherwise I feel like I'm grazing. This one did the trick - it was outstanding! This dressing stood on its own and was a fantastic complement to the arugula.
Thanks Tyler!

Too much shallot, way too sweet, does nothing for the arugula.

This is a good classic salad dressing recipe to know. I make this pretty often. I agree with others though that it needs less shallot, I only use about half to a quarter of a shallot depending on how big it is.

I loved this vinaigrette, it was very simple and quick to make. I was out of regular dijon so I substituted with whole grain dijon and it turned out awesome! I also skipped the sugar. I'll definitely make this again and again. Thanks Tyler!

Love the flavor of the dressing. My husband keeps saying, I don't like sweet dressing, but when I serve this ...he likes it. Only 4 stars because it does turn out a bit oily and thick.

This was a great and refreshing salad and vinaigrette. I made the entire meal from this episode and the salad actually balanced out the richness of the mac and cheese.

I normally LOVE Tyler's recipes, but my husband and I didn't care much for this vinaigrette. I used half the shallots the recipe called for, but still thought there was too much. Not horrible, by any means, but I probably won't make this one again.
