You can forget the bananas, maple butter and pecans ('though I'm sure they are good this makes the BEST basic pancake recipe ever - I thought my family who are not known to rave on about food, would never stop talking about these. They are light and fluffy without being too "air-y." I kept them warm before serving by putting them in the oven on a wire rack over a baking sheet and keeping the oven tamp. at 170 instead of 200. Perfect!

My husband and I like to have breakfast for dinner & most of the time its pancakes! So tonight we tried this recipe and it was awesome! I did subsitute 1 cup of white flour with whole wheat flour and didn't have enough butter to make the maple butter, but will next time! This is going in my recipe box :

After promising my daughter we would make pancakes, I realized we were out of milk. We forged ahead, using a mixture of 1/3 half-n-half, water, and sweetened condensed milk, while omitting the sugar in the recipe. We also used 1/2 whole wheat flour and added ground flax. The pancakes, despite the changes, were fluffy, nutty, and delicious. Definitely a make again recipe.

I grounded the pecans and I blended the bannanas so that there is a taste of pecan and bananna in every bite and let me tell you it is fantastic. I love it. I am not a pancake eater but I have made pancakes for breakfast for the past 3 days now and my family loves them. Thank you Tyler.

I used candied pecans instead of the regular ones. It was tasteful. Id use this recipe again and add whipped cream to it =

I've made them twice now. The first time, I smashed the bananas and excluded pecans because I didn't have any. This time, I added the sliced bananas as instructed and substituted some finely crushed walnuts for the pecans. I prefer the latter, but both batches came out lovely.

Half a batch is plenty for four people unless you're looking for a super hearty meal consisting only of pancakes. I think they would make a great dessert or a nice sweet snack. I wonder how well the batter would hold up in the fridge overnight. Will try that for next time.

Best when fresh but definitely not bad reheated. :-

One day I'll make the maple butter. One day...

These pancakes were so delicious. I made half the recipe for me and my boyfriend and there were still leftovers. They were light and fluffy like a pancake and had a great nutty, banana flavor. I did not make the maple butter, just put butter on the pancakes and syrup...still amazing. Will definitely make these again :

After about 5 different recipes, I have finally found a homemade pancake recipe. I should have come to Tyler Florence first.
