    Absolutely Delicious!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I made this bread this evening and it is amazing! I baked the exact recipe in a light gray metal pan that is a little more than 9X5. It came out a bit browned on the edges, but that might be because I greased then pan with butter instead of oil. I also baked it at 325 for 1 hour and 10 minutes. It's moist on the inside and I don't mind the browned edges. Next time, I'll add a bit of orange zest. I also may reduce the sugar by 1/4 cup or use a combo of white and brown sugar. It doesn't need so much, although it is very good the way it is. I am a seasoned cook, but this is the first time I've made banana bread. The easiest bread I've ever made.

    Just perfect

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I made this recipe several times (two breads at a time). First following the recipe, then substituting a part of the butter to oil, the half of AP floor to whole one, apples and/or pears with banana, and so on... The bread is just amazing and tasty. We eat it for snack, breakfast, and the children just love it. You can trust this one.

    Very moist and soft

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
This is bar none the best banana bread recipe I've come across. Didn't have time so I made muffins instead. they came out moist and fluffy, with a nice golden crust--just beautiful. This will definitely be the staple for us!! Thank you!

    Should be called banana cake!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I chose this banana bread because of the many five star ratings and it did not let me down. It is so moist and so delicious, the best I've ever had. My son in law raves about it, so he gets his own loaf! I've made this four times and each time seems better and better. My bread however was thoroughly cooked after 1 hour so you made need to monitor it's progress the first couple of times depending on your oven. I used pecans the first time and now all I use is walnuts,I guarantee you will absolutely love this recipe and so will everyone else!

Really Great, But Two Brown on Outside

Rated: 4 stars out of 5
I have made this twice and I love the texture. It is light and fluffy and not too sweet. I love that!!! But, I do have the same problem as other reviewers... By the time a knife comes out clean, the outside is overdone and way too dark. This was even after I put a tent over it. I started watching it every 5 minutes after 40 minutes in a 9x5 pan. And it was still too dark on the outside by the time the inside was done (which took about 65 minutes). I'm not sure why this happens..... Maybe I should cook it at 325 for the whole cooking time. Any suggestions?

    Excellent and non-fail

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
Excellent texture and pure banana taste. I used a dark baking pan, and my loaf was done in an hour. Next time I will bake it at 325. Love Tyler's recipes, his shows, his enthsiasm!

    Bananalicious!!!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I do my research before I make something... this was my pick and I struck gold! Everyone loves when I make this banana bread and give me their ripe bananas to make them a loaf. I make two loaves, 50 minutes to bake since the loaf is smaller. For cupcakes: 28 minutes. Want to impress a little? Decorate the top with by slicing an extra banana... or line up whole walnuts (yes, I use walnuts) across the loaf. Everyone will ask if you are a professional baker!

    HOLY COW!!!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
After reading some of the comments about baking time, I checked the bread at 1 hour, 1 hour 5 minutes, and 1 hour 10 minutes, and Tyler, you are the master!! At least in my oven, 1 hour 15 minutes is perfect. And the taste is beyond description. As always, Tyler, YOU ROCK!!!!

    Fantastic Recipe

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I love this recipe. People always ask for the recipe. Once my stepdad ate one of my specifically saved old bananas and I thought about making banana pumpkin bread, had no pumpkin and used pineapple instead. Still fantastic - still got asked for the recipe!

Ok, here's a new twist for you. Tyler's Banana bread and Nutella sandwiches. It''s amazing. Slice thin and spread with Nutella and make into little sandwiches. sprinkle with powered sugar. my 7 yr old daughter is wild for this! I also agree you need to cut down the cooking time to an hour. Especially with a dark pan.

    My Proposed Embellishments

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I've made this once before and was pleased, however, after scanning through the reviews, I'm planning to make it today with the following embellishments: I will substitute 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour. Also, I plan to delete half the butter and replace it with an equal amount of apple sauce. I will also add some chopped dates for added texture and flavor. I wonder if dates can be soaked in bourbon? I may add a touch of cinnamon. I think a sprinkling of brown sugar and finely chopped pecans across the top before it is baked might add a sweet, crunchy topping to the loaf. I will post the results later today. Any comments or suggestions?

    Simply the Best

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I have made this banana bread several times, and my colleagues at work say it is the best banana bread they have ever had. I just had to write a review because I made the bread again this week, and the raves continue.

My first review ever, but feel compelled to share how truly fabulous this one is!

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
My daughter, who is not a good cook, found this on line, and was cooling it on her kitchen counter when I came to babysit. I'm a good Southern cook with years of experience and I can tell you this is an absolutely fabulous recipe and if you are lucky enough to run across it and make it, you will never, ever use another recipe for banana bread! It doesn't even compare with any other I've tried or have ever tasted. A few weeks later, I stopped by her house, and again.....warm banana bread! Was as good as the first one! Please try it warm, with a tad of butter. Oh my! By the way, the picture shown looks nothing like the ones we've made. It doesn't come out as dark as the pic shows. I can't make it as often as I would like, because if I take one bite, I'm a gonner!

    Best banana bread I ever had - 5 ++++

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
This is a great recipe. I added cinnamon as another reviewer suggested. I also had only 3 bananas, so I used about 1/3 c. of pureed mango from my freezer. I added it with the banana chunks at the end. You will need to watch the cooking time. I used a 9 x 5 x 2.5 loaf pan and the bread was done in 57 minutes. I began checking it at 50 minutes and then two more times after that. My pan was dark metal which may explain why it cooked faster than recommended. I am going to make some mini loaves and give as Christmas gifts. Just can't part with that first one, it is that good. Enjoy and thank you Tyler. Your recipes never disappoint me. I usually seek them out first.

This is by far the best banana bread ever

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
My family loves this banana bread. I usually bake it in muffins tins. My husband does not care for nuts, so I will add different dried fruits and chopped apples. I did have to lower my oven to 325 to keep it from burning.

Picture doesn't do this justice - freezes well

Rated: 5 stars out of 5
I love this recipe - I've made it about 15 times now. I've made it "as is" and I've made a little lighter version with low fat margerine and Spenda. It's always a hit - I'm going to bake a bunch for Christmas presents this year. Also, this recipe is great to make ahead and freeze. I always make an extra loaf when I have everything out (bake 2 at a time) and put the extra(s) in the freezer. It's been great when heading for a weekend trip...pull it out and take it. Extremely moist. No need to toast and dust.
