This recipe really demonstrates how proportions and techniques make a huge difference. I normally had used the King Arthur Flour recipe, but Tyler Florence's recipe was more attractive and flavorful.

I had a bunch of bananas left over so I used 6! I mashed 3 on the side and whipped the remaning 3 with the butter. I do think I baked it just a hair to long as it was a little dry, even with the extra banana. Regardless my husband loved it and I will make this again!

I prepared this recipe exactly as written and baked at 350 degrees for 1 hour and 14minutes in my convection oven. Tyler says 1 hour and 15 minutes. The recipe ingredients are great and tasty but the bread was overdone. Next time I will only bake for an hour.

If I could, I would give it more than 5 stars. I had some over-ripe bananas left over, and I was sick from all the sweets I had during the Holidays. So I decided to use Tyler's recipe. I have cooked a couple of Banana Nut Bread recipes, and this is hands down, the best. I used almonds instead of pecans. I always have a problem with the baking time, however 1 hour and 15 minutes was perfect.

This is a fabulous banana bread recipe. I like the mix of smashed and wiped bananas as it adds so much more taste. I think the recipe is very easy so I'd change the difficulty rating to easy.
