Homemade dashi makes this dish. It's a simple traditional Japanese meal.

This is truly the best Miso Soup recipe is the best one I've made. I purchased all my ingredients @ a Japanese grocery store here in SF and the store clerk that helped me mentioned it was a good recipe when he read it. It turned out he works in a Japanese restaurant in SF.

This soup is so good I rave about it all the time. I've made it 6 times in the past month. It's fantastic and very simple. I've given the recipe to a lot of people and they all love it too.

I wish I had read the previous posters review before I made this. It was inedible. I love Tyler and had never made any of his recipes that I didn't love...until now. Very fishy. We ended up eating canned soup with turkey sanwiches. I followed the recipe perfectly. Don't try it.

Made me go out and get a steamer and visit my local Asian market. Sometimes asian cusine seems so hard to make, but this was simple and effortless. The fish is cooked so well, and with the miso you have the choice to flavor how you wish.

This is the first time we have used BONITO flacks and kelp. Made everything very fishy. The fish we steamed was dry. Everybody hated everything. My bambo stinks now with bonito smell. The bonito and kelp (not seaweed was very hard to find. Don't make this one !
