I love scones, but these did not come out like I was hoping they would. I know that scones characteristically don't have that strong of a taste, but this scone (without glaze lacked any flavor at all. The only time that I was able to taste anything was when I bit down on a blueberry that, after the warm, initial, out-of-the-oven state, tasted gross and soggy. Not only was the actual scone unsatisfactory, so was the glaze. It was unexpectedly runny and extremely sour/tart from the lemon juice. Overall, I would not make this recipe if I were you. There are plenty of better scone recipes out there to try instead.

Really good. Three things I would do differently. First, next time I will fold in the blueberries to the dry mix before adding the cream. Otherwise, the batter is very tight and it's difficult to incorporate the berries. Next, I would grease the pan to prevent sticking. Last, I'd cut the glaze recipe in half -- I had a lot more than I needed. Delicious!

GREAT. Nice and buttery and delicious. I had to add more cream though to form the dough..about a 1/4 cup. I used half sour cream-half plain yogurt since I didn't have any heavy cream. 2 Tbs of sugar not enough for me. I'm gonna add 4 next time I'm gonna make these. Probably tomorrow.

SO good! I make these scones all of the time. They are really easy and always turn out great. Sometimes I have to add a little more cream just to get the dough to form correctly, but it doesn't take much. I have even skipped adding the glaze a few times and they still taste yummy. Thanks Tyler!

My favorite scone ever!!! This is so delicious, soft, and so yummy. I love the fresh plump blueberries, and the lemon taste together. I even made Tyler's scone recipe this Christmas, but substituted fresh plump cranberries instead...very yummy...Try it!! Thanks Tyler! :

    Needed some revisions.

I didn't have cream, used plain lowfat yogurt instead, and 1/2 and 1/2 to get the dough to the right consistency to add the blueberries. I added the zest of one lemon to the scones and increased the sugar to 1/2 cup.
After brushing the scones with 1/2 and 1/2, I sprinkled coarse sugar on top before baking.
As others have written, the glaze only needed to be 1/2 of what is called for. I added the juice of one lemon and 1-2 tbsp 1/2 and 1/2 along with the zest and melted butter to give the glaze a creamier consistency. Came out beautifully. Drizzled the glaze over the scones with a fork. Very nice scones, soft and moist and flavorful. I love scones! Anyone who says they don't like scones hasn't tried the right one!

I knew I would have a little trouble with the dough separating so before hand I froze the blueberry's. Freezing the blueberry's did help in forming the dough but I still needed to add a bit more flour to keep the dough from separating. I added powdered sugar after I drizzled the glaze just to give it a little something extra. Tasted and looked great! In the future I would probably use less lemon juice for the glaze since I had so much left over and a bit liquidity. Overall, great recipe!

Worst recipe ever!!! Didn't even bother with making the glaze as the scones were so bad! No flavor and texture was like rubber! Threw the whole mess away. Husband ate one just to justify my work and I told him he was crazy. Waste of time and money. Find a good bakery instead!
