It does seem to take a long time but at the end it's well worth it .
we put plenty of pees in it but besides that it's perfect.
We tried doing a short cut before by not making the stock , this was a big mistake it is all about the stock.

we have been cooking dumplins in my family for years and i have to say this one is better than ours with the exception of the dumplins we don't like the big balls of dough we like to little small flat ones, unlike most ,the prep time does not hinder me . ours took a long time too and if you start it in the morning or over night the chicken will be done and cool so all you have to do is throw the rest together. i love tylers recipes they are always very good.

Lacking time, I used canned broth instead of making stock. This is a great recipe, but personally the sauce was too runny for my taste. Next time I will definitely add more flour so that it has a thicker, more gravy-like consistency.

I usually just make homeade chicken and flat noodles. I had never had a true dumpling before. It took me most of a Sunday to make this recipe but it was truly worth it! My daughter says it is without a doubt the best thing I have ever made.

I personally prefer the flat dumplungs made by my mother-in-law
but these were good but i cannot see how you could keep them
from touching each other. Also if your sauce wont thicken you could
mix up a little flour and water un a measuring cuo and add it to the sauce
    it will thicken then.

I have been using this recipe for about 5 years and it is my favorite!

I am a single parent with two girls. On a rainy Saturday we make this together. They love cutting the veggies and making the dumplings. It take A LOT of time but on a rainy day with good books and a glass of wine for mom who can complain?

    Enjoy!

Made this for a friend from Tennessee and she said it was the best chicken and dumpling she ever had. She would have told me if it didn't measure up.

My husband wanted some chicken and dumplings so I found this recipe and made it last nite. It's so good. The dumplings just melt in your mouth. My husband said it's the best soup he had ever eat. Thanks so much!

I made this for my family for dinner last night and everyone loved it. Reminds me of my grandmothers chicken and dumplings. I also cheated and bought a rotissiere chiken from the grocery store and used store bought chicken stock. This saved me hours and it turned out delicious. I do think next time I will put more chicken in it.

I initially wanted just a recipe for dumplings. My mother always used canned bisquits, but I didin't have any on hand and lost my dumplings recipe. So, I went to FoodNetwork! What I found was top notch (or course!. The supreme Sauce is so smart! Why didn't I think of that? It just makes perfect sense. My teenagers thought the dumplings were strange at first 'cause they look different, but the taste won them over. I added some fresh herbs from my garden to the supreme sauce. Very nice!
