This is the best! Not too difficult and perfect for a cool evening. Definitely worth the extra effort...I actually was really nervous about the whole chicken thing, but it worked out perfectly!

This was SO good. I used celery and bay leaves when I made my stock, and then discarded when strained. I don't really like pearl onions, so I used a diced onion, instead. Also, I didn't have heavy cream, but it was delicious without. Perfect winter dish. I'll be making it again soon! Thanks for the great recipe, Tyler.

Unreal!!! The chicken only cost me 5 bucks and the poached chicken was so flavorful, and I got about half a gallon of great tasting stock. So much flavor, so easy to make, and inexpensive (I had just about everything in the fridge/pantry already love this recipe, Tyler is the best!

I made this recipe last year and it was delicious. I had spacing issues with the dumplings too so tonight I will try rolling them out instead. Delicious as always, Tyler! Thanks a bundle!

Awesome! Well work the effort. The only part I had an issue with was the spacing of the dumplings and getting all the dumplings to cook evenly. I used a dutch oven, but the dumplings were crowded, which I couldn't control given the size of the dutch oven. As a result, some of the dumplings didn't cook all the way. Next time I'll use a bigger deep skillet instead of the dutch oven.

the overall taste of this dish was very good...however the dumplings left something to be desired. It said to add heaping spoonfulls into the sauce to poach, but the dumplings ended up very "breadlike" on the inside. Had i made them all smaller they would have tasted much better. I think next time i will do everything the same, but use a different recipe for the dumplings and roll them out the old fashioned way.
