I made this for a family get together that turned into about 30 people. Of course I doubled the recipe. It was a HIT. Everyone raved!! I served it over mashed potatoes. I think all the wonderful unique ingredients is what made it so delicious. It was labor intensive but that is not a problem for me when the outcome is loved by all.

Worst Chicken Cacciatore EVER. I thought adding lemon slices was odd, but I trust TF so used them anyway. The result was horrendous. I ended up throwing the entire meal away, as it was so bitter from the rind and my dh almost broke a tooth on the pits.
I like you Tyler, but you toally missed the mark on this one :(

While this recipe is a bit labor intensive, it is worth the time invested. The depth of flavor was truly amazing. It had my family guessing the ingredients with each bite. This is a keeper and I will make this again and again. It paired perfectly with the Creamy Corn Polenta. Keep giving us these types of recipes!

I saw this show and could not wait to try this recipe. I have never cooked chicken cacciatore. I had always used the jarred version. This recipe was easy to follow and it turned out very well. IT WAS OUTSTANDING.

This was a labor intensive recipe with very little satisfaction. The batter from the chicken fell off and was all mixed in with the sauce. Ugh! Sauce had good flavor but the breading from the chicken pretty much ruined the whole dish. It took a lot of effort to roast peppers, peel the skins off, bread & fry chicken in batches, chop the rest of ingredients, and for what....a big disappointment. Would never attempt this dish again & frankly a little reluctant to try more of Tyler's recipes.

This was such an oily dish, the whole think just tasted heavy and not pleasing in any way. Such a disappointment for so much work.

I've made cacciatore since I've started cooking, and Tyler's recipe had some new elements I really liked. My family absolutely loved Tyler's recipe. Next time I will remove the lemon slices before serving. Also you can add 1 cup of sauted mushrooms and 3/4 cup of tomato sauce to Tyler's recipe and it's good, too. If you don't have white wine, cooking sherry is fine.

First, there is no way you can prep this dish in 20 minutes, more like 60 minutes if you're a pro. Second, cacciatore means hunter in Italian. The origins are recipes used by hunters to prepare game in the field. They most certainly did not bread and fry the chicken, unlikely they had capers and anchovies in their packs. So, Tyler has created a laborious, fattening, "ultimate". Check out Marcella Hazan or Maryann Esposito's recipes.

This dish does take a long time, which you can shorten by using red peppers from a jar and buying a cut up chicken. I finished the dish in a slow cooker set for 4 hours, and the chicken was finished in about an hour.

This recipe was one of the best, a little spin on Cacciatore and the Creamy Polenta went over well. One person at the table said they wished the meal would not stop it was so good.
This one is a keeper..going to become a family regular.
