I love Tyler Florence recipes but this was awful. The oder in the house was a dead giveaway (terrible. I almost "pitched" them when my grown son suggested quickly lighting the charcoal grill and hope to burn off the taste. We also added regular BBQ sauce to them with the hope we could save the dinner. It ended up less than OK but edible. That being said, the cooking method was great as the texture was perfect.

I thought these ribs were full of flavor and very easy to make! Disregard low ratings and make these ribs! Some of the best I've had!

These are the best ribs we have ever had. My family cannot get enough of them.

This is the best spare rib recipe I have found.

Like another reviewer, I found this very salty and had to cut the sauce. Added some fresh squeezed orange juice and some grilling sauce (without soy, honey and I don't remember what else to take out some of the salty taste. Also, too much 5 spice for me. Will try again, but will not season the ribs the way the recipe says. Will use a small amount of 5 spice in the glaze, rather than rub the ribs with it.

Although this recipe was O.K, it didn't come close to the tender tasty ribs you get at your local Chinese restaurant.

The recipe seems simple and with the ingredients it should be great and of course it's to prepare at home as well.

watch out...don't put as much as indicated during the show, it becomes overpowering.

Also, is a bit dry - lower the temp and not too close to the coils.

While this recipe sounded good on the air, my family did not care for it and hated the kitchen aromas. Rather pungent and it was rather expensive to prepare. I have the second spare rib in the freezer and I think I'll make my traditional BBQ sauce and redeem myself. I threw out most of it and ordered in.
