The BEST refried beans ever! Thanks, Tyler. Cooked the mixture longer than recipe call for to loose a little more of the liquid, about 25 min. total. Wonderful flavor!

This is a great and easy recipe! I did not puree the beans and it turned out just fine. This will be my new go to retired bean recipe. Very tasty!

Great recipe! Quick and easy. I didn't smash the beans and just added them on top of wild rice. As a little girl we would eat beans and white rice and it brought me back home. I added a touch of red pepper flakes and cooked the beans a little longer (10 minutes, so some of the beans broke down which made a wonderful broth. Also, I like my chorizo more crispy and when cooked with the beans it seemed more boiled, so next time I'm going to add the chorizo later in the cooking process and see how that goes. We are looking at adding more beans to our diet and this was a great way to do it! Thanks Tyler!

this was the first time ever making refried beans and because i wanted to make a mexican meatloaf i decided to give this recipe a try. unfortunately i could not find chorizo anywhere so i used linguica. i used the food processor to puree it. i dont think it had the right texture. and i completely forgot and left out the chicken stock! haha. so thats another reason. but it was still very flavorful and much better than canned! ate it with some tortilla chips. ill give this recipe another try if i ever find chorizo.

We had a mexican theme gathering and I was in charge of the refried beans, so I decided to try this recipe. It was too runny for refried beans but made an excellent chili, which everyone LOVED! Unfortunately my husband's aunt wasn't too pleased being that she was in charge of the chili and no one ate hers. Beware, the spice in this recipe will sneak up on you....definitely a keeper. Thanks Tyler!!!

This was so easy to make. I enjoyed every bite. I won't buy refried beans ever again. I made a terrific breakfast burrito with this recipe and will keep making them over and over again.
