Can't go wrong with a classic Clam Chowder on a rainy California day like today.

What made it even more special is that we are celebrating a birthday and it had a big dose of Love in the ingrediants. This recipe will be part of our families cook book.Very delicious and easy to make!!! Thank you

We tried this recipe based on the ratings from other people. We followed the recipe exactly but this definately needs tweeking. There aren't enough spices to give this dish enough flavor. Really would not recommend this.

very yummy soup. i didn't have the wine so i omitted it and it was awesome still. i also added diced red pepper which made it pretty and added flavor. Also, i took the veggies from the stock, pureed them and added them to the soup...perfect: it added some thickness and tons of flavor. also, i only used half of the cream called for and it was perfect. yum

I would consider this chowder to be only okay. The white wine overpowers the chowder and considering the work that goes in, it leaves you a bit disappointed in the end. It is not substantial enough in flavor that it must be paired with another dish... yet, requiring more work. My recommendation is to add the wine a bit at a time to your liking.

By far the best I've ever had and due to where I live I was forced to use 4 cans of chopped clams instead of fresh. Can't imagine what it would taste like made the way he said. Definitely the one to make.

I have made chowder before, with mixed reviews from my family and myself. This was easy, very tasty...and next time it will be doubled. I put all the clams in when making the broth as my family does not like shells in their chowder or to have to work when eating their chowder. Excellent!!!

I have never made clam chowder and this is absoutley fabulous! It does take some time to prepare, but well worth it! Creamy, tender, and delicious is what I heard from my family. I will make this next time for my friends.

Involved recipe but great for a New Year's treat with the family. A good way to enjoy local seafood!
