Made this for dinner one night for my dinner club. It was a blast to make (lighting the Cognac on fire. It was very tasty with all the fun veggies, the meat was falling off the bone, an overall excellent recipe. My guest's were all very impressed.

If you get a chance to, make the braised root vegetable recipe from that same episode as well.

We have made coq au vin several times. This is a very good recipe. We will try it again.. with much less wine. The flavors were excellent... we just found the wine flavor a bit too strong and will substitute chicken stock for part of the wine in the future... otherwise... excellent and easy

I used Pheasant and Quail. Added crazy janes seasoning to the flower before dredging. Instead of Burgundy only had pinot noir. It was great and better the next day

This recipe gives you the basics. I added 8 legs of chicken and plenty of salt and freah ground pepper. I also added three tablespoons of tomato paste and three tablespoons of flower mixed in 1/4 cup of hot water to thicken the recipe. We found it rich and satisfying when served over egg noodles. I also added more oil, olive oil to saute the veggies and about fove cloves of garlic as we love garlic. I don't think that you can go wrong with the recipe and common sense. Enjoy!

One of the easiest yet most flavorful dishes I have ever tasted. The blend of spices and wine are truly mouthwatering. A very sweet tasting, earthy kind of dish that will please anyone with healthy tastebuds. This one has a regular spot on my dinner menu. I used baby bella mushrooms and vidalia onions in mine.

    Thanks!!

I love Tyler, but I can't believe he said boom more than a dozen times in this show every time he added an ingredient. Usually he says boom and okay several times per episode, but he really went overboard with the boom!

I thought this recipe was great! My kids age 6 and 7 loved it, too. I didn't have cognac or brandy, but the same week I made this I went out and bought some just so I could make it again soon, and follow the recipe to the "t". TYLER ROCKS!

...but it just didn't have much flavor and it was more work than we anticipated. We added the optional tomato paste for more flavor which helped a tad. This is not a repeater.
