I'm originally from New England, so it's hard to please me concerning chowders. This was easy and very tasty. Because of cholesterol issues, I substituted the cream with skim milk - but it still tasted great. I added just a dash of cayenne pepper for a bit of zing.

I appreciate that this recipe doesn't use bacon and can be vegetarian. I actually cooked corn cobs in some milk and scraped them and that's what I added instead of cream. I also added a little light cream as well. This came out tasty and delicious. A real hit.

It was so difficult to find a corn chowder that didn't have bacon in it, but this one is fabulous! It's all about the fresh corn, though - you are missing out if you're not cooking it in season with fresh corn cut from the cob.

I also only used 4 cups of stock, and let the potatoes boil a little longer so it really thickened up. Delicious! This will be a summer staple here during the chilly San Francisco summer.

I hate to waste summer produce, so I made this with some leftover grill roasted corn on the cob and it ended up getting finished before the leftovers from the original meal! I did lighten it up a bit by substituting half of the cream with milk and can't imagine it being any tastier with the additional fat and calories from the whole amount of cream. I'm planning on keeping this recipe close to me at all times!

I don't cook very often, so the simplicity of this recipe caught my eye. Wow! This turned out great and is super filling. Now if only everything else turned out this well, maybe I'd actually cook more...

I don't usually care for soup in the summer but since I love fresh corn and my son cannot have it on the cob because of his orthodontic work I thought I would try this. Really good. I am very upset with myself for only making half a recipe for the two of us! Definately will make an entire recipe next time.

I used dry thyme instead of fresh and this soup still rocked!

I made this with fresh frozen corn that I had cut off the cob last season and it came out great.

...mine turned out really bland. I had to add some other spices to give it some flavor.
