My first time making corn chowder took forever but it was amazing. But I feel that if I didn't add any extra spices, then the original recipe might have been bland. But its a good thing because it allows you to experiment with flavors. The first time I added oregano and chicken for heartiness. It was great! The second time I wanted to change it up a bit. So I added some tarragon and cinnamon. Those flavors were amazing as well! I added some spices, tasted it and added more to the flavor I wanted. Loved it!

This recipe provides a good foundation to corn chowder, but on it's own lacking in depth and flavor.

To tweek, I add 1 diced red bell pepper to the sauting onions/garlic. Also added an extra clove of garlic. Instead of the hard boil to break down the potato, I put half of the final product through the blender to thicken the chowder (no need to add extra flour as others have done...make it creamy, yet a bit chunky. Cut the cream down to 1/2 cup to make a lot healthier, and added just prior to serving (after putting through the blender instead of during the boil. This really doesn't need 2 cups of cream.

Fresh corn cut from the cob is the freshest and most flavorful in my opinion. Canned or frozen corn ok in a pinch.

Served with chopped cooked bacon and cubed chicken breast to "meaten" it up a bit for the boys in the house.

I love this recipe. This is the perfect recipe for someone who doesn't want bacon in their soup - this really features the corn. The best corn chowder I've ever had - no question. I followed the recipe exactly.

Easy and to the point of the traditional corn chowder. Few steps which allows time for other stuff! Whether another dish or just to relax!

Very quick and easy soup recipe. I used canned corn because fresh was not in season and it still turned out great. I will make it again for sure!

Made this soup along with his cracker recipe and it was outstanding...

I used some of different things because i didnt want to make any special trips to the grocery store so i used: Garden vegetable stock with a cup of chicken stock, used 3 red skinned potatoes and 2 cans of corn and this came out so YUMMY!!!

You can make this with fresh corn or can and it will come out just as good....

    Delicious!

Best chowder ever! I doubled the amount of flour to get the thickenss that I like. I also added a couple jalepeno peppers without seeds. Instead of using veg stock I used chicken boulion cubes. My husband and I love it!
