Like another commenter stated, most grocery stores sell 12 oz bags of Ocean Spray. Not sure where Tyler shops. I only used one of the 12 oz bags of cranberries and followed the rest of the recipe. With only one 12 oz bag, the juice of one orange was not enough liquid. So I ended up adding about another 1/4 cup of water. I am still afraid it might congeal as it cools and turn into a cranberry gummy-bear.
But I just tasted it warm off the stove, and OMG, that touch of cinnimon and the orange zest and juice made a very tasty side dish for tomorrow. I think I might warm it up tomorrow before serving it and I might need to add a touch more water. I think I could eat it all right now.

This is a staple at our Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners! It's incredibly easy and delicious every time. I've made it the past 3 years. The leftovers are great, too...my husband uses it on his turkey sandwiches.

I tried this recipe for a change from canned cranberry sauce and it was delicious and easy to make. It made a lot of sauce, but that's great for leftovers. I followed the recipe exactly, except I put about a tablespoon of triple sec in to enhance the orange flavor. Yum! I think the people who found it too tart are so used to the sugary taste of canned cranberry sauce they forget that cranberries are tart. I'm sure that adding extra sugar would help the taste for those who found it too tart. As for me, it was great. I've banned the can from my thankgiving table.

I have made this recipe twice now, and I absolutely LOVE it. One thing that I think is important to watch-- a lot of the fresh cranberries at the grocery store (like Ocean Spray are 12 oz bags, not 8 oz, so make sure to adjust the orange and sugar accordingly. I used 2-12 oz bags since I love this leftover, and used about 3/4 cup white sugar, 2 oranges, 1 cinnamon stick, and added a few tablespoons of brown sugar. This recipe is phenominal!

I made this for thanksgiving and it was so good, I wish I had made more! I used splenda for baking instead of regular sugar. Also, I didn't have a cinnamon stick so I added a tiny bit of cinnamon and it worked out great.

I normally think most cranberry sauces have waaaay too much sugar, so I was pleased that this only called for 1/2 Cup. Also, I wanted a very simple recipe taht wouldn't take a few hours and a ton of ingredients. Because it was a smaller crowd, I used one bag of cranberries, the zest and juice of a whole orange and then 1/4 C sugar (and cinnimon stick. It cooked quickly and easily. I did have to add a tad more sugar though, which was simple enough to do. I can never eat canned cranberry sauce again!
