This year will be my third Thanksgiving with this particular cranberry sauce. It is so easy and versitile; I usually double the batch using 1/3 brown sugar, 2/3 white sugar (instead of all white and cardamom (which tastes great with the citrus. This year I added about a teaspoon of allspice, clove and nutmeg to a double+ batch. I am also making it in advance for mutiple parties so I will be freezing it, if it does not taste as well after thawing I will update this post although I am sure it will be fine. Enjoy!!

I saw several raters say that this was too tart for their taste. I could only get 12 oz. bags of cranberries so I used the recipe exactly as it was written except that I used 12 oz. instead of 16 oz. It came out delicious. Not a big cranberry sauce fan but I loved this recipe.

We make a cranberry jezabel appetiser that we serve over cream cheese with crackers. I wanted to use fresh cranberries and make my own sauce. This was a simple recipe - but I couldn't find stick cinnamon in my cupboard - but I had red hot candies - so I added a tablespoon of those. It's still cooling - so I will have to post results later...

My daughter loves this sauce on her turkey sandwiches for lunch. I freeze it in the little plastic containers and take one out each week to make school lunches. On special days I will add a little smoked gouda and a bacon strip to the sandwich. The sauce is good on it's own too!

Great tasting sauce even for those like myself who are not fans of cranberry sauce. Easy recipe, do not be fooled by the difficult label. A good recipe to give the non cooks who insist on bringing a dish to the dinner.
