This will certainly be a keeper for us. I successfully used tilapia. Left over chipotle sauce is excellent on almost anything - even put it on pizza last night.
I suggest you make at least a double recipe of mango sauce, 'cause one just won't be enough! I even think that grilled fish would work just fine - to keep down fat.

I just wanted to write that we really enjoyed this dish. It was easy to make and only $2.50/person. I used red snapper which was delightful! The only change I'd make is to use 1 can of chipotle peppers in adobo sauce because it was very spicy hot - 2 cans would have been overwhelming. And you can add any toppings you'd like in addition to the cabbage (e.g. cilantro and onions, tomatoes, avacado, etc.

I used red snapper for my fish. My husband loves fish tacos so I wanted to impress him with this recipe. I just used enough of the peppers and sour cream to make a sauce (didn't use exact measurements and it came out great! My hubby said it was the best fish tacos he ever ate and its now difficult for him to go anywhere else now (oh oo, I did too good a job! = This is a great recipe to have!

I thought the tacos weren't very flavorful but that could have been my fault. The store I shop in didn't have halibet so I bought cod instead (I don't eat a lot of fish so I don't know if these two fishes are close in taste but I saw that Guy used Cod in one of his fish taco recipes and I used canola oil instead of the peanut oil. I had read many of the reviews before going to the store and a few mentioned the peanut oil was overpowering so I thought the canola would be ok. Maybe I should have put more salt and pepper in the egg bath. Crunch wise the fish was fried perfectly. We really liked the sauce! I cut the recipe in half tho' and if I make again would probably put two of the peppers in it for just a little more zip. I'd be interested in hearing what other reviewers think went wrong for me. I love Tyler's show and look forward to watching it every Saturday morning and to receiving his cookbook that I ordered! Thanks!

I first made this with tilapia and thought it was very good. The next time I made it with Red Snapper and it was melt in your mouth delicious. For my family i cut the mayo and sour cream for the sauce in half, still adding the two peppers and it was still mild enough for my daughter to enjoy. I served Guy Fieri's Black Bean salad as a side dish with this. My biggest compliment was when my husband, amateur chef, requested this meal for dinner when his parents were in town.

My family loved these tacos. Even my husband the no veggie guy ate the cabbage with these. The sauce is spicy and cool all at the same time. Great witht the crunch and sweetness of the cabbage. Panko makes the fish sooo crispy. Make this. You will not regret it.

This is a great recipe. Really easy and equally tasty. The fish came out very light and crispy. My husband doesn't like fish and still ate every bite. I experimented a little with the pink chili mayo and it has become a staple condiment in our house. Really good on Southwest turkey sandwiches, too!

This recipe was so yummy that we have made it a 'weekly item' in our home. The fish goes a long way, so keep that in mind as you decide quantities. Absolutely delightful!!
