This is one of those recipes that is so easy to remember, and to adapt, that it will become a permanent part of the repertoire.
No halibut or snapper? I used cod, with excellent results. Also substituted romaine lettuce and soft tortillas for the tacos. One could easily vary the crunchy/fresh component endlessly.
The pink mayonnaise is worth making extra of. With summer tomatoes overrunning our house, I enjoy the simple pleasure of a tomato sandwich, and usually drizzle a few drops of hot sauce on with the mayo: the chipotle here adds that familiar smokiness to even such a simple pleasure.
The great thing about this recipe is that prep and cooking time is so quick.

Easy (esp if you use a deep fryer and the sauce is the best part (aside from the crisy-ness of the fish.

Man was this good. I added a bit of shredded carrot and cilantro to the cabbage then put the sauce over it. It sat while the fish did. Also remembered my visits to Mexico in that they used 2 tortillas. Helps hold things together better! Cravings be gone for fish tacos, for now.

Never had fish tacos before this show aired. Tried them and absolutely love them. Taking them camping, entertained with this recipe and everyone loves them. The sauce is fantastic!!!

Awesome tacos. Better than Una Mas or Rubio's. My boss wouldn't think of eating a fish taco, but he LOVED these tacos and the sauce. This is my first time using panko crumbs and they are awesome. They are so different than corm meal, which is good. Will make this recipe all the time!!!!!

This is the first time I have taken the time to rate a recipe on food network. However, this recipe was so good that I felt obligated to tell everyone to try it. TRY THIS RECIPE!!! Excellent flavor and I always make extra sauce because my boyfriend loves to use it on sandwiches.

These were pretty good, but probably won't make again. The chipotle sauce had a good flavor, and was a change of pace from salsa. However we prefer it the other way around with the fish sauteed simply without coatings, and the corn tortillas fried in the oil until lightly crisped.

I had never used panko bread crumbs before and was very pleased with the taste and texture. I added a tsp. of blackened seasoning to the egg mixture since we love the taste. The fish (codnever made it to the taco stage since everyone gobbled up the fish as fast as I fried.
